any chance that you can channel this anguish into stretching your comfort zone far enough to allow new social opportunities?
just wondering. . .
I have made new friends and they are all supportive and willing to accommodate my needs. None of them really have phones though. It's so much easier for me to talk by text rather than in person because I can think about what I want to say and how to say it. Besides, I always get interrupted during conversations and I'm too shy to speak to more than 2 people at a time.
however, i grow tremendously every i set my preferences aside and stretch my comfort zone. the world shrinks to a mighty small place when i hold my preferences sacred.
There is a balance between being yourself and not changing for someone else, but also trying new ways of thinking and doing so you can learn and grow.
I also struggle with conversations in groups of friends sometimes. Maybe you can plan to hang out with just 1-2 people at a time and see it it helps.
