Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
Overit, do you have someone you can make arrangements to check in with every day? I carry Ativan in my purse. Knowing it's there keeps me from having an anxiety attack. Maybe knowing someone will check on you if they don't hear from you will help ease your mind.
for me, i live alone and have done since my big break up 18months ago. my anxiety was at an all time high, due to stress, excema and learning to adjust. i was also living someone that made me very unhappy, uncomfortable and i couldn't sleep which didn't help.
now i live in an attached little flat, alongside a lovely home with nice people there. i sleep better for starters and feel a bit better knowing if i was really bad, i could go to them for help.
i do get anxiety some nights alone and i almost always text someone or come on here. i have been known in the past to take myself off to the medical centre, scared.
i also sometimes get morning anxiety, wake up, dry wretching. this passes and i have only shared this with a couple of friends, it's less common and less understood (i'm working with an acupuncturist on it).
i find that i go in stages. sometimes i am glad to be alone, for i need my space, my serenity and if i want to lay down i can! but other times i think "i want a partner to hold me and i am sure i wouldn't be as anxious".
living alone my health anxiety has gone up. i worry about every ailment.
i read, and put relaxation music on at night. i'm going to revisit counselling and CBT therapy in the new year.

In this case id choose isolation every time. Id rather spend my whole life in solitary confinement than spend an hour in a room with a tormentor that uses your own paranoia against you.
One thing i can say with some credence since I found this group...
None of you are truly alone. We all have eachother.

Again, thank you all for your encouragement. I'm not alone...right?
I just wish I had some of you friends close by so we could hang out!
For those of you who live alone, there are so many people out there who struggle with anxiety and have the same thoughts. You are NOT alone!! Big hugs!
