Hi everyone
Been a while since i was on. Things have been going better, much better. But there is always the feeling of the ground below is actually thin ice. My job is stable, I'm living on my own now, working out and improving health, the work on my book and art is doing well. But i'm wanting to make the next step instead of just resting on my work. I seem to be bulding well and want it to continue into success.
Now that i'm on my own (my mother is now in a good situation). It's been ten years since my last date and I want to start seeking for a good person in my life. i read many of your posts here and see a difficult world to return to. can i ask you all for some advice in what you (women) are looking for and advice (men) on what to steer clear of? My personal belief is that a relationship NEEDS to be more than skin deep and involve the whole of a person; mind, body, and soul. I would be intersted in others and what they feel is a healthy relationship and the important ingredients needed to succeed.
This is a good sight for reaching out when you need help, I feel that many of you have valuable advice from life that could help me and hopefully some of the words i've said help you. Love

It's been 40 years since I was eligible for the dating circuit and, even when I *was* eligible, I didn't play the game. I met my hubby in the course of building a life I could love and found a friend I could pull in the traces within that life, The days I most adore my hubby are the days when he doesn't worry about what other women want. We don't do well on the days there is more than one man and one woman in our bedroom. Keep it singular, sweetie. I ain't no dating site profile.
Butttttaaaa. . . Romantic I ain't.
Gentle support while you find what works for you, King. Welcome back.
I don't really date anymore, but I met my significant other when he kept coming into my work every day. He seemed nice to everyone and would compliment everyone. Then one day, I was working the front counter, and he came in to order food, and after he complimented me we continued to talk. For another week, I saw him almost every day at work, and we would talk. Soon I started seeing him around in other places. Like I found out that he worked down the street, that one of his best friends lived across the street from where I worked. He started coming into work a couple of times when I was there, and soon we started trying to see each other outside of work.
It is really interesting to sit and think about how I met my soon to be husband (less than a week until it is official.)
As for any advice that I would give for the dating scene.
Be Kind
Be patient
Set up rules before dating (don't sleep with someone on the first date) and especially when using dating sites.
Have at least one person that you can confide in- this helps so you can talk about the dates, what went good, what do you not like. do you want to go out again?
Don't rely on a dating site alone (you could still meet someone in the grocery store, at a fast-food restaurant, or in the course of your normal daily life.)
If you get frustrated take time for yourself.
