Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...

Anybody got experience with family lawsuit stresses and how to manage the anxiety attached? The CPS and family court dramas attached to the deaths of my son and his wife were my first family court rodeo and I didn't much like the ride. The thought of going through all that again has my stomach tied in knots and they are not responding well to my therapy-as-usual. Modifications and/or new tools needed.
My departed son's sister-in-law wants to adopt her sister's 3 orphans and has sicced a lawyer on us We have yet to hear from the lawyer and there is room to believe she is delusional in her certainty that he has taken her case, but? ? ? It still feels like a hatchet lingering over our necks. My son and his wife seem to be screaming from the great beyond. This sister was downright abusive to my son's wife. There is not a fiber of my being that believes either of them would want their children calling her, "Mom."
The settlement from the first go-round is less than a year old and seemed to have been going reasonably well, but giving the children free and easy access to both branches of their family tree is looking like an even greater challenge than it did a year ago when the father's lawyer was after us. We dared to hope all that was behind us when the old man died last year. It was just hoping. This really isn't much of a surprise.

I haven't written in my diary on my computer since May because I thought that my computer was dying. I got away from writing but my computer is hanging in there. I think that I will start writing in it again. It's so therapeutic.

Years ago, I won a mirrored armoire from my job. It's in my bedroom but I rarely stand in front of it. Yesterday, I had to have a dexascan done so I had to change into a gown. There was a full length mirror in the changing room. I'm aware that I gained 5 to 7 pounds over the last year from cheating on Keto but I didn't know what it looked like. It was a reality check.
First thing I was informed of by the attorney was that in dealing with any of the legal issues, I had to remain calm, clear headed, and focus on the purpose of the legal issues.
All too often, those pesky feelings and emotions can create chaos thus adding to the dilemma of sorting out the 'facts', 'proof of evidence', and provide a safe passage through the hoop of information sharing.
As it was put to me, a lawsuit can be filed by anyone. It can be done for any reason. The purpose of the judicial ruling is to provide legal measure. So when someone files a lawsuit for the wrong purpose, it's important to keep the basics up front and separate your feelings through safe expression.
In your case, this person thinks that 'filing a lawsuit' will result in their receiving the result they want. The difference, legal proceedings previously have provided proof of evidence towards the stable and long term stability of daily living activities and environment stability for the children to grow up in a safe and secure surrounding situation.
Best wishes in the legal situation. It's not easy to remain calm.

My son's in-laws have been horribly litigious through this entire nightmare. After the fatal car wreck, when we called to notify them, the patriarch asked about lawsuits before he asked where his daughter's body was. Privacy laws didn't allow the CPS workers to go into detail about why they wanted to shift the protective custody to us, but there is ample room to believe formal litigation from the paternal grandfather was involved. The man was as fervent a housing project lawyer as ever there was. He saw lawsuits everywhere in life and spouted them freely.
Now that our hopes have been dashed of those games having ended with the old man's death, we are back to assuming everything we say can and will be used against us in a court of law. What a glorious icing to put on the court-ordered holiday holiday cake.
Where to go from here? ? ?
Let's all bow our heads over our cell phone and ask The Cloudy Its.
