Leaving for California

I am leaving for California for my three week interview Sunday. I think that I will get the permanent job. I am so anxious- will I get the job, will we sell our house so we can move, will we be able to find a house we can afford, will my wife actually come out there? Well I dont feel like I have a choice but to go because I need to support my family. I am so not looking forward to being away from my wife and three kids, it seems like I am going to prison. My 14 year old has a sort of girlfriend, he seems like he really doesn't want to go but he seems interested in California and the schools there. Well, thanks to whomever reads this with interest. Joe

Good luck Joe! I can understand the stress you feel--that would be a lot of change which can cause anxiety.

We used to live in Merced, CA--it isn't far from Sacremento or San Francisco. We loved it.

My son just moved from Long Beach, CA. He loved it because he was close to the beach and the mountains--lots of things to do. LA traffic was terrible and it was a bit expensive there, but he really enjoyed it!

Hey I've lived her 25+ years, what I like about CA is you can drive for 2 hours from where ever you are and be in a diff climate.. Ie: 2 hours at the beach, or 2 hours in the forest, mountains, desert... =)

Not sure where you are headed but I wish you peace on your journey!

well I can relate. I Just got a new job and I have to fly to Califonia every week for the next 7 months. I'll be home a whole whopping 32 hours a week. But I have to say it's better than sitting around the house collecting unemployment. It's just a contract job for now so I don't have to move or sell anything.

i am sorry that you are scared, i think everyone get scared at time. i how it can be scared to move and met new people. you should just take your time and relax.
