Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. Hello all, here is an update on me. I have been to the therapist 4 times. We have a plan to really use mindfulness and meditation to help with my anxiety. It is helping with my anxiety. We had more of a tougher for session yesterday. He asked if I wanted to continue therapy. I had a lukewarm response and I asked them all why are you asking the question. I guess I just really wanted to know where he was coming from. He said he was looking for more of an enthusiastic response. I also told him that the reason why I'm in therapy is I hate having anxiety and I just want the problem to be fixed. Hence the lukewarm response. He said he doesn't have a magic wand to make it go away. Wwhat he plans to do with me is give me tools to help manage the anxiety, which I can live with. I just have to get used to the idea that I've had anxiety my whole life and it's not just going to go away. So one of the things he was suggesting was having compassion for myself. He said I'm a very hard worker I'm a very compassionate person but I have these really high standards for myself. I can agree with what he saying so there's no real issue with it.
He suggested to continue with the mindfulness and meditation with self compassion.
just wondering if anyone else has done this type of meditation and any useful pointers. Does anyone else have issues like me? And how did you deal with them? Thanks

I haven't written in my diary on my computer since May because I thought that my computer was dying. I got away from writing but my computer is hanging in there. I think that I will start writing in it again. It's so therapeutic.

First, I hope everyone is doing well, and continuing to fight that good fight! Keep up the great work on yourselves; I'm rooting for all of you!So, I started doing therapy at the beginning of the year, when I was in my most depressed state, but with my therapist, I made big changes and steps in the right direction. But, over a month ago, she couldn't take my insurance anymore, and I had to stop...
Mindfulness was/is especially helpful for those impossibly high standards I hold for myself. Left unchecked, I give myself allot of black eyes for the crime of being merely human. On my good days, I am a compassionate person. Not so much on the days when I am self-flagellating. Insert mindfulness exercise here.
