Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
anxiety, depression, and other physical issues make it difficult to function, and being alone and not having anyone that cares or that can/wants to help, just makes the anxiety and depression worse, and harder to function when you have to do everything yourself, and can barely even brush your teeth most days. but I've just been trying to stay positive, as they say, and focus on whatever I need to do. I applied for disability, bc my dad kept telling me too, since he's sick of me living here and not being able to pay rent, since I haven't really been able to work much due to all of my issues. I kept saying I probably wouldn't get it, and he kept saying I would. well, when it was denied, he said "well, better get a job" d'oh. how helpful. but I kept appealing, bc I figured that would be my best chance, to get my own place and get away from him, and not have to be blamed for everything all the time. well, I had my hearing and - surprise surprise - it was denied yet again. which was really depressing, bc my lawyer said before that she was the best judge, that approved the most cases. so of course we were hopeful. but then to see that it was denied, AND that her report basically ignored most of what I said, and everything that supported my claim, instead focusing on the tiny bit she could use to try to discredit me, as well as everything she mentioned, were from old, outdated reports. so what was the point in having the hearing, to explain all this, and the current situation? obviously things change, or else we would all have these issues since birth!!! It just seems like no one ever listens or cares. and one of her main points was that I haven't sought treatment, so it must not be that bad. when one of the main reasons it's hard to work or do anything, is that just going outside is stressful, and I hardly ever leave the house!! one of the examples she kept repeating, to try to discredit me, and show that I CAN leave the house, is an appt. I went to -- 3 YEARS AGO!!! and yet, she thinks this means I can somehow leave the house regularly to work, as she says. no to mention she ignored the personal care issue, even saying that I said I DON'T have an issue with personal care. that's the opposite of what I said!! trying to prove that someone that goes weeks without showering or leaving the house would be able to leave the house regularly and keep a job, bc they went somewhere 3 YEARS AGO, is the most RIDICULOUS thing I've ever heard.
So anyway, obviously I'm working on the appeal so I can point out all these errors and falsities - and then they say its rambling, we need facts. But I've explained all that before, and they just ignore it. So just saying that's wrong, doesn't seem to make any difference, even though it IS a fact, like they wanted. So then I thought getting police reports might help disprove her statements, since obviously me just saying so doesn't seem to do anything. But theyre $10/each, and I don't have the money. And this is why it's depressing when no one cares or wants to help you, and why it just makes things more depressing and harder to do anything, bc its so hard to do everything yourself, and no one cares or wants to help, and even if you try to explain all this, just like in the hearing or get treatment like they want, they just ignore you. You would think my dad, who was the one that kept telling me to apply for disability, and that I was disabled, would want to help...but no. I asked him several times, he always gets mad and yells, says theyre not gonna help, its my fault for spending all my money, I should sell some of my stuff. But stuff isn't selling now!!! And the point is its a very time-sensitive issue, which is why I kept asking and said I'd pay him back. But no, he'll never do anything to help me. Then I hear him talking about me again (thats his favorite thing to do, talk about people.), saying "yeah, her latest appeal came, she got another extension but still hasn't done anything about it" when I kept asking him for the money for the reports, after I called them to get the report numbers. But yeah, I never do anything, as usual. Gee I wonder why I'm so depressed. And it's been weeks that I've been trying to get the money, and he always says I always wait until the last minute. Well if he would have helped me when I asked, weeks ago, I wouldn't have to!!! Not to mention, he recently gave away my old camera to my nephew. Of course, if I asked for it back, then I'd be the bad guy. So I said he needed to give me the money for it then, but he refused. Obviously if he wanted to give him a camera, it would have cost him to buy one himself, so he saved money by giving him mine, and he could look like a great guy, while giving away more of my stuff. So at least he could have given me the money for the reports. But no. Then I said I'd call the police and report it stolen if he didn't give me the money, and he said hed tell them that I stole all his money, when HE'S the one that has sold or given away tons of my stuff, which he seems to think is ok, cuz I don't pay rent. Which, I'm pretty sure is illegal. But if I say anything about calling the police, then he says if you do, you'll be homeless. He's told me to leave pretty much every day, and the main reason Ive stayed is so I can keep appealing, cuz I thought Id eventually get disability so I could leave. But he just keeps getting more pissed off the more they deny it, and the more I have to stay here and can't pay rent. I'm just so sick of being blamed for everything, can hardly function here. I keep thinking I should just leave and be homeless finally, like everyone seems to think I deserve to be. It's just really depressing when you have no one that cares or wants to help, living in this society that also doesn't care if you need help or are homeless. :(

I did the dumbest thing today. I charged my earbuds, unplugged the block and put the block in my little bag instead of the earbuds. I wasn't happy about that when I got to the gym. What a dummy!

I'm sick of having to ask ppl for money. I finally asked this guy I had talked to online, and told all about my anxiety and stuff and how I had been applying for disability, if I could borrow some, and he turned into an ahole and called me a bunch of disgusting names and insults, which only increase all these issues. I feel like anxiety has a lot of symptoms, especially when those stressful things, like having to go somewhere (as I tried to explain to them), come up, like get the hiccups, stomach pain, get itchy, etc. And now bc of all this stress of trying to get the money for these reports, and the deadline coming up this week, and dealing with someone calling you names and insulting you when you ask for help, cuz no one else will...the "itchiness" seems to have flared up, probably bc of all that stress, and now I have scratches all over, I'm all sore. :( as if constantly feeling like youre going to have a heart attack isn't bad enough. I might have to finally go to the urgent care.
Also ask for a psychological consult.
Write in a private journal. You will have to be your best advocate. Here's the thing for disability, facts, not "opinions" are required for assessment of disability percentages for all medical conditions (mental and physical).
Best wishes as you find your better balance. And you doing this for yourself will be worth the extra effort and strength it takes to complete the process properly.
praying this will work out for you. warm hugs
Your story is similar to my disability with the veteran’s affairs. It took eight months to prepare that submission. Dozens of doctors saying I had disabilities, submissions on VA forms for disability (separate from record). I hired an outside doctor and nurse to submit separate reports (and paid for those reports). I got most disabled rating and appealed those that I was denied on. It took six months to prepare another submission of a thousand pages and new medical records, and paid for outside doctors and nurse reports. I sat down and read 10 USC 38 CFR to understand the rules by which they would judge my package on. I paid a lot of money for extra doctors, reports and help in submitting my package. I was finally declared disabled by the VA. At least for now, as that can be reversed at anytime.
So take from this that you need to know the rules of the game, make your report to speak for itself - concise and impactful, extra reports that show your disability, and know the rules, speak their language. It is a game and to win you need to play well.
You are not alone. Are there any groups on depression and/or anxiety that meet in your area. Your insurance might cover outpatient groups that could be helpful. Find out what resources you can use in your area. Don’t wait for help to come, your it.
Wow, that is allot to sort. Having outside support while you sort can help allot in sorting the chaff from the grain.
Gentle support while you sort. Welcome aboard.
Mid - I have had evaluations. one at vocational rehab, and one that disability sent me to. and both stated anxiety and depression. but just like everything else in the report, she just focused on what's NOT there. like, the one time I went to a therapist (at the police's urging and escort, since they were sick of coming over here - which is why I thought the police reports would help) she stated that "there was no mention of agorapgobia", and that all the stress was inside the house. uh why do you think I hardly leave the house? to avoid the stress of outside. and she even noted how I didnt seem that anxious. um wtf? it sounds like she doesnt know anything about anxiety. ugh. and this is what I mean, it's so exhausting and depressing. you think youve explained everything well, over and over - then they just come up with something else as an excuse, so you have to explain that too - but they don't care!! they never listen to anything you say. it's like they keep making more hoops for you to jump through. so they are facts, but since they don't care or believe anything I say, then how do I prove these facts? which is why I feel like I have to explain everything, and then they say I'm rambling. like her keep repeating the appt. 3 years ago as "proof" that I can go outside. and what about all the missed or late appointments, where they said if I was late again, they couldnt see me, so I stopped going. oh, theres no mention of that. when I even said how I was repeatedly late to my last 2 jobs, was late coming back from lunch cuz it was so hard to make myself go back, and was so exhausted that I had to call in sick just to get a day off, and didn't even shower the whole time, again from being so exhausted by everything. but of course she didn't mention that, and said I have no issues with personal care.
sorry to rant. I did get a lawyer, one of those disability ones where you don't have to pay unless you win. so I thought they would get the reports like everything else, but they said they didnt know what's on them so I guess they didnt wanna pay.
no, no friends or anyone to care or help. which just makes it even more depressing, when you actually ask someone for help, and they just yell or insult you. and thats another thing she kept mentioning in her report, how "she said she didnt need help with anything" um ok, I dont remember saying that or being asked, but again, when youre so used to no one helping you - what is the point when theres no one around to help anyway? my crappy selfish mother moved 15 min. away a few years ago, but once she got her new house that she tried to use me and everyone else to help her get, I guess there was no point in talking since I'm not interested in being her little puppet anymore, and since she cant do anything for anyone else, she just expects everyone else to do things for her but since were all sick of it, then theres no use for anyone. so she stopped answering the phone years ago. whats even more depressing than having a crappy mother, one more person who doesnt give a crap and wont do anything to help you, and youre about to be homeless - is that she gets her house and all her bills paid for by my grandparents. but, you guessed it - they wont do anything to help me either. oh the crappiest person deserves a house and everything - but not me, nope. and he kept saying maybe I could go stay with her - I was like yeah, the person who didnt care enough to answer the phone, I'm sure I should just go over there, right. so I kept saying to drop it, cuz obviously if she cared she could have done something. but then he just kept harping on it and calling and texting her. and then when she did respond, it was the same old, 100 long rambling garbled texts all about her, her house and how she needs a new place, etc.
anyway...sorry to ramble. thanks everyone. I feel a little better, now that someone actually listens and understands. :)
It often takes a combination of percentage assessment to meet the disability standard.
What exactly has your disability lawyer assessed your disability at?
And, this is important to understand-if you've met the standard for the disability you're mentioning, it is time to look further into other areas that are affected.
I hope you are able to find resources that are able to help evaluate your full physical medical assessment.
I learned (after the experience) that I needed a physical assessment of the disability that provided the information "missing" in the application.
My application had everything in it for the disability I provided. The "missing" information was the effect the original disability had in my ability to function when faced with distress situations.
You have support here. It is a lonely feeling when your in person conversations are lacking support, and it is common.
Keep writing.
