Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
Well, just got back from the ER.
i haven't been sleeping well at all,and my anxiety lately has been absolutely unbearable.i can't remember what time i have been awake since, but i have been up for hours.
i went back to bed around 7 AM but struggled to sleep. Then i just became very concious of my heart pounding out of my chest, and i could hear it pounding in my ears. As usual,it felt like my chest was being crushed.
It was the worst it has been lately,so i started to worry, which of course was making it worse.
After a couple of hours without it abating i strated to wonder if it was something other than anxiety.
Because i have an eating disorder, and i admittedly have been drinking more water than i should, which in the past has caused my sodium to drop quite a bit, which can cause problems for the heart,my GP and my pyschiatrist have told me that if i start to have palpitations i should go straight to the ER.
So i kept going back and forth over going. i knew it was likely "just" anxiety, but it was so so bad i ended up deciding to go.
ECG,blood work.Saw a med student. He told me when i first came in my pulse was 126,it dropped to 118,which he still thought was high, but is actually my average.Put on heart monitor. He came back with the doctor.ECG normal, and my pulse dropped.
i kept apologizing for being there and wasting their time when it was "just" anxiety.i think i did that because i always ready myself for being treated like i am malingering. But the doctor was very nice about it.He said with heart issues it is often hard to determine whether it is "just" anxiety or a heart attack, and that in hospital with their equipment can determine which it is.
So my heart is fine,my electrolytes are ok except my sodium is a bit low.
i don't know why i was apologizing to the doctor. It is very rare that i have gone to the hospita for this. But this morning really worried me.
i'm home and took a clonazepam, but my heart is still pounding although may be a little less.
Again why apologize? i wouldn't tell any of you to apologize.
Anxiety is a nightmare.

Years ago, I won a mirrored armoire from my job. It's in my bedroom but I rarely stand in front of it. Yesterday, I had to have a dexascan done so I had to change into a gown. There was a full length mirror in the changing room. I'm aware that I gained 5 to 7 pounds over the last year from cheating on Keto but I didn't know what it looked like. It was a reality check.

"don't be a hate hole" has been one of my recent mantras which seems to be escaping my mouth more and more often. it emerges when i am faced with the endless list of chores i would rather not deal with. insurance. head lice. bureaucracy. in-laws. the list goes on and on and on and on, ad infinitum.reality checks requested. am i making sense?"ever'thin they is but loving leaves a rust on your...
