Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. I am going through one of the hardest times of my life right now. For some reason, my anxiety will not stop. When I wake up, my anxiety starts. I get this hot, tingly feeling in my chest near my heart and then it spreads to my arms. My heart pounds almost non-stop. I just have this unbelievably overwhelming sense of dread, doom, and panic which is making me depressed. A bit of background on me, I have had anxiety problems before in the past, but nothing like this. My anxiety was situational-I couldn't ride in a car, so I got treatment which helped. Yesterday, I was supposed to get on a plane to go back home for the holidays, but my anxiety was so great, I couldn't even make it to the airport.
What I really don't understand is why this is happening. Because I had flown before a couple months ago, and I was extremely nervous, but I flew on the plane. I really don't know what is happening; it's like I cannot function. I'm utterly exhausted and I just want my normal self back. This suffering is so great, I think about suicide now, but I'm so terrified of doing that and hurting my family...I'm afraid I'd go to Hell for that...like God wouldn't accept me if I killed myself. I just want this anxiety to end, what is wrong with me?
