Anxiety Support Group

General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
My first dating experience brought out my OCD when I was 19. I have been in and out of therapy ever since. In 1992, I was hospitalized in a psych ward for 2 weeks and in 1995, I was back in the psych ward for about 4 days. Medication changes caused me two more nervous breakdowns. I ended up on Social Security Disability Insurance in 2019. I still have OCD but it's very manageable. I had been seeing a therapist but towards the end, I was just not needing it but felt obligated. In October 2024, I canceled my appointment. I feel no need for therapy. I am pretty happy with my somewhat simple life. Today being V-Day didn't bother me a bit. Dating is a trigger for my OCD anyway. I actually like doing my own thing. In earlier years, the most important thing to me was finding a boyfriend. It rarely happened and eventually I gave up. I guess the right guy could change my mind. But the bottom line here is that you can get better. You can enjoy life. I'm proof!

I did the dumbest thing today. I charged my earbuds, unplugged the block and put the block in my little bag instead of the earbuds. I wasn't happy about that when I got to the gym. What a dummy!

I was making so many strides and changes during therapy, my therapist would acknowledge all of my progress and accomplishments, and I miss that reassurance. Today I thought about it, and I made those changes! She would always tell me that I chose to...
for what it's worth
i marvel that anyone can survive the dating game with their sanity intact. i started life with a child prostitute's understanding of, "dating." are we surprised i was adamantly opposed to dating as a teenager?
as i grew and recovered from those ravages, watching other people play the dating game has made it look harder and more confusing than ever. whose idea was that game, anyway?
apology to any i have offended.
