Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
It all started my senior year of high school when my parents decided to divorce. The stress I was under was unbelievable. I don't even know how I graduated. It wasn't just a "We didn't get along" divorce, it was a "She cheated on me and your youngest sister isn't my kid" kind of divorce... So it was one of the worst kinds of divorce imaginable. Shortly after I graduated I moved straight out of my dads house and moved in with my college boyfriend so I didn't have to deal with stress anymore. The stress got better but that's when the symptoms came. The damage from all of the stress I carried for a whole year was too far. It wasn't fixable. I developed major anxiety. I can't calm down from stress. I have become a huge hypochondriac. I developed acid reflux disease and IBS.. I also get these headaches everyday and being a hypo doesn't make it any better. I'm only 19 years old. I can't handle all of this at once. I have been placed on a low fodmap diet for my IBS, I can't ever go back to the foods that hurt me because it's too painful. I have been seeing a therapist once and a while. I'm not even going to college because all of this has me so messed up. I have many other medical problems that my doctors are trying to figure out. I am so glad I found this support group! I think this will be my best option of finding help and keeping hope that I will one day get better.

Years ago, I won a mirrored armoire from my job. It's in my bedroom but I rarely stand in front of it. Yesterday, I had to have a dexascan done so I had to change into a gown. There was a full length mirror in the changing room. I'm aware that I gained 5 to 7 pounds over the last year from cheating on Keto but I didn't know what it looked like. It was a reality check.

"don't be a hate hole" has been one of my recent mantras which seems to be escaping my mouth more and more often. it emerges when i am faced with the endless list of chores i would rather not deal with. insurance. head lice. bureaucracy. in-laws. the list goes on and on and on and on, ad infinitum.reality checks requested. am i making sense?"ever'thin they is but loving leaves a rust on your...

sux and you really feel it'll never go; but it does go. You'll be okay so just take it one step at a time and trust your body to eventually right itself. And certainly don't go near any of those foods for ages. Like, a year type ages.
On top of that, all the treatments were stressing me out more - trying to keep up with all the things I was supposed to do in order to feel better, worrying I was getting worse, not being able to eat foods that soothed me and so forth.
I've found far more answers in alternative medicine that Western "cures." A doctor tested me for the MTHFR gene mutation and I have it. It means I can't get the folate I need from food so I need to take a special sort of B6 and avoid folic acid. Just that one thing and my IBS is gone as well as my panic attacks and my depression hasn't returned. My risk of heart attack and cancer has also been reduced significantly.
I also started with AAT. While massage and meditation is nice, I had industrial strength stress and I really needed to yank that out at the root. Associative Awareness Technique is done by a physical therapist and it's deeply relaxing. It feels sort of like a massage, but it sort of resets the stress level so you're not so hyperalert and fight or flighty.
Finally, one surprising technique has saved me SO many times. An older friend of mine was telling me about what her kids were up to and I told her if my kids were doing that I'd be losing my mind with worry (they were traveling to a lot of remote areas and another was in the military). She looked me square in the eyes and said, "Not my circus, not my monkeys." Yup. Don't take on stress that is not yours. Draw that boundary. And reduce the impact the stress has on you by stepping away from it, refusing to listen to the back and forth of your parents if they try to draw you in, etc. I know, easier said than done.
When I was 19, I was a disaster. Now that I'm older, I've created a quiet life and I just do the things I love every day. I've stopped pressuring myself to be perfect and released worrying about the expectations of others. I have my own business so I can work with my own natural flow. It DOES get better!
When I realize why I'm having pain it makes me feel better to point it out. Like "Ohh I had spicey food that's why I have pain". Then it gradually goes away. All my life I have had medical issues. When I was only 2 years old I had my spleen removed. It was 3 times the normal size. To this day doctors still don't know why it enlarged and caused me to be so sick. Every year I got back to get blood taken so they can do more tests. Because I don't have a spleen I have to take antibiotics twice a day. Just this year I had a TON of blood taken and it was sent to the mayoclinic. I got good news, I don't have any kind of immune deficiency. But that doesn't answer the question as to why I have too many lymphosycites in my blood. So one of my docs thinks I could have ALPS. Autoimmune Lymphoproliferative syndrome. It's a rare disease that causes the spleen, liver, lymph nodes and blood to act up. I've had all of those issues but still other docs don't think I hav it.... So to this day I am a medical mystery. And I think all of that chaos has caused me to become a hypochondriac. And there's so many more issues I have going on that doctors are curious about.
