Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...

This has been a very trying day. I honestly thought that today would be pretty good. I woke up feeling ok, the sun was absolutely amazing, and it was already so warm when I let the dogs out this morning. I have been dealing with nocturnal cramps again. I have had two back surgeries and my back is still super messed up, but I have learned what to do to keep the pain under contro. So, even with the discomfort I feel at night, I still thought that today would be ok. So much for that thought. I honestly don't know what triggered me, but I have been miserable. I ended up sleeping most of the day, which is a sure sign that I am not ok. My husband is great, and is usually supportive, but I definitely didn't get any support from him today, which made things worse. He tried waking me up at 4:30, just so I would be able to sleep tonight. I, however, responded very bad to that. I said something I immediately regretted and instantly apologized, but I know that apologies don't always help, especially when I am prone to outbursts. I hate it. My depression and anxiety just get to the point of no control some days. I like to say that I have gotten thing more under control over the years, but I do still have days where I just can't do it. I currently have no interest in anything and want to be left completely alone. I don't want to try. I want to give up. I work on myself every single day and still feel so lost and empty. I keep trying though and I don't know why. My therapist holds me accountble for my self-care and I really appreicate that. I just wish the people I am "close" to would try to be more understanding. I don't expect to be coddled and definitely don't want anyone hovering, but a little bit of concern would be great some days. I am finding it harder and harder to be there for others and I feel like i am losing empathy towards other. I don't want to be this person. I just want all of the darkness to clear out, or at least break up enough for me to see the sunshine. I apologize for the long-winded post and thank you for listening to me vent. I hope everyone is doing good. I send hugs, love, good vibes, and peace to each of you...

I haven't written in my diary on my computer since May because I thought that my computer was dying. I got away from writing but my computer is hanging in there. I think that I will start writing in it again. It's so therapeutic.

Years ago, I won a mirrored armoire from my job. It's in my bedroom but I rarely stand in front of it. Yesterday, I had to have a dexascan done so I had to change into a gown. There was a full length mirror in the changing room. I'm aware that I gained 5 to 7 pounds over the last year from cheating on Keto but I didn't know what it looked like. It was a reality check.
I get much further with taking my psychotherapy needs to my therapy support network while I let friends and family remain friends and family. Keep venting here, Wifey. Listening. . . We care and have a few more clues than I even want my loved ones to endure. In this case, ignorance really is bliss. I allow my loved ones that ignorance with love, respect and more than a bit of envy.
If you have never experienced the activity anxiety levels that seem overwhelming, then the advice shared 'works for you'.
I remind myself that I am responsible for what I say, do, react, and respond. I am NOT responsible for what others say, do, react, and and respond. In doing this, and putting my well-being first, I have found far more support because their usual response no longer fits and even in the worse response, it changed.
Keeping a daily private journal as you learn what works best for you to find the calm in the moment often brings you calm techniques that help you to continue to find the better balance naturally.
This is one reason I’m picky about who I share what with. As some can do more damage than help with their responses
Go. Gentle with yourself. Self care. Where u can.
As my coping skills have grown, so too has my gratitude that my loved ones don't understand. I wouldn't wish an insider view of this condition on my worst enemy, far less a loved one. Launching from that gratitude, I feel a tad bit guilty for being so grateful that my therapy support peers **do** understand, buttttttaaaaa. . .
I'm glad you are here and **do** understand. It helps to know I am not alone.
