Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...

I have a new therapist and I actually feel like she is going to be effective. I have gone through so many therapists over the years and none have really seemed to work for me. I was ordered back to therapy a little over a month ago, when I had a massive meltdown and it, in turn, severely affected my blood pressure. Both my anxiety meds and blood pressure med has had to be doubled due to the severity of the meltdown and how severe my anxiety was. Anyways, I started using Betterhelp, since my work schedule isn't flexible enough for me to leave for therapy to see someone local. I work by myself in an office, with help one day a week, and finding someone to cover is near impossible. I chose the first therapist based on her credentials and years she has in the profession. She was great, but after 5 sessions, I felt like we hadn't made any improvement. So, this prompted me to change therapists. This new one has more credentials, especially along the lines of what I need, and 45 years in the field. Sooooo... I was definitely eager to go with her. The same day she messaged me gave me a breakdown of her treatments, and in that, she made it clear that she is holding me accountable for participation and being open and honest, following her treatment guidelines and worksheets, etc. I was kind of thrown off with the abrasiveness, but quickly realized that this is quite possibly what I need. I am used to being coddled and being told to only do what I feel like doing. Well, I can say that anyone with major depression and anxiety will agree by saying that, it tends to cause us to push it all to the side. I am and have been bad for that. She has already sent me some questions to answer, kind of a "what brings you here" thing and I truly and honestly unable to answer one of the questions and said that. She came back and said that she will not let me off the hook with that question. She did guide me and describe some ways to dig within in order to answer the question, but I still have to send a response. She sent me more stuff to work on today as well. This persistence is definitely something I am not used to, but I have noticed that it makes me want to work hard on doing what she ask. So, here is to a new therapist and getting better! Cheers!
I hope everyone is having a good day and doing well! Remember your self-care and try to focus on the positive! Hugs and love to each of you...

I haven't written in my diary on my computer since May because I thought that my computer was dying. I got away from writing but my computer is hanging in there. I think that I will start writing in it again. It's so therapeutic.

Years ago, I won a mirrored armoire from my job. It's in my bedroom but I rarely stand in front of it. Yesterday, I had to have a dexascan done so I had to change into a gown. There was a full length mirror in the changing room. I'm aware that I gained 5 to 7 pounds over the last year from cheating on Keto but I didn't know what it looked like. It was a reality check.
That question which is so hard to answer...can lead to the hidden origin of the situation that creates chaos for your anxiety to help.
Hurrah!
Girl, howdy, those therapists ran some highly productive therapy groups and workshops. I can do my venting on paper or with a bartender. I don't need to pay $150/hr for a place to vent and whine. Personally, I think the best place to look for sympathy is in the dictionary, between shit and syphilis.
May your new therapist be as productive.
It works if you work it and you are worth it.
Sounds great so far. Best wishes to you!
