Hi All,
I am new to daily strenght and happy I joined. I just want to know that I am not alone. I ABSOLUTELY hate driving to work because I experience the worst anxiety when I am driving myself. I have terrible thoughts, my hands get shaky, I feel calmy etc. Everyone thinks I am crazy but it really puts me in an uncomfortable situation. About 6 months ago I moved to a small town from a large city and now I am forced to drive to work. Previosuly, I had ubers, buses, etc. now I feel that I am on my own. Even when I was living in the city I avoided populated areas and highways. Luckily there is not much traffic so that helps but still. There's been times where I wanted to pull over and just cry. Today I called in sick because I had a headache and made other excuses but I know it's because I did not want to drive. I just don't want to contine feeling this way. Driving is an everyday task and I wonder if I'll ever get back to enjoying like I did before my first anxiety attack on the word.

Today I thought about it, and I made those changes! She would always tell me that I chose to...

I absolutely love driving, but commuting does this to me. To my senses, driving and commuting are two completely different activities. Audio books were my sanity saver during the commuting years. I picked most of them up at the public library.
Hopefully beginning to talk about the problem will help you find solutions. Welcome aboard.
