Hello, I'm new to this whole support group thing but I couldn't think of anything else. I am supposed to go on a trip with my dad and his family this weekend but I couldn't sleep last night. Thinking about how far I would be from my house. I have to look up where ever I go to see how far it is, what it's around, and how long it will take to get home, and my options for getting home since I don't drive. This place is over two hours away, I'd be gone all weekend and around people I don't know that well. It's also by a lake which I don't do well around, not very fond of open water. My sister, my mom, and my boyfriend all say I should go because I don't leave my house often, I try to stay inside as much as I can. I'm not good around people I don't know, honestly I'm not very good around people I do know. When it comes to talking to another person I shake and I studder and I don't make eye contact, I want to go this weekend, I want to have fun but I can't. Couldn't sleep last night, spent an hour crying at the thought of having to be around a bunch of people in a place I've never been. Everyone says itll be good for me, but I think itll do more harm then good. I want to go, but I can't bring myself to it. I don't think I'm ready to go out with people I haven't know for long to a place I've never been. People always assume I'm dramatic but spending two days at my boyfriends house puts me in my room for three days, how long is four days around people I dont know going to keep me in my room for?

Hope the dog days of summer aren't getting you down!

medication temporarily. I was extremely shy, no social skills, didn't talk to people.
But a wonderful therapist helped me. It's hard work, and scary but so worth it
not to be miserable all your life.
