Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
Hello. I am feeling very low and depressed. It must be chemical because it is for no reason. It started in January when I went off this medication, Spironolactone. I guess the medication messes with your hormones and it threw me into a depression. I have been so scared about my health. Feeling chest pains and scary feelings like coldness and arm numbness, back pain. I have had multiple tests done ekg, X-ray, ct, echo, bloodwork. Everything is fine so far. So it must be depression. I have never had trouble with anxiety before this medication. It is starting to affect the people around me which hurts me the most. I am wanting to feel better so I can be strong for my family. I have anxiety every day about it, sometimes panic attacks that come out of no where. I really don’t want to hurt or lose the people I love. I just want someone else to talk to. Feeling hopeless.

I did the dumbest thing today. I charged my earbuds, unplugged the block and put the block in my little bag instead of the earbuds. I wasn't happy about that when I got to the gym. What a dummy!

Ever since I stopped doing therapy because of insurance, I've been feeling that old tense and irritable sense of anxiety and stress. I hate that. I was making so many strides and changes during therapy, my therapist would acknowledge all of my progress and accomplishments, and I miss that reassurance. Today I thought about it, and I made those changes! She would always tell me that I chose to...
I know it is hard to do all this stuff, but at least in my experience, I have had to be my own patient's advocate and do all the work myself for my anxiety problems. It's a pain for sure to have to do all of this yourself, but you can do it!!
My most helpful doctors believe that anxiety has more physical causes than medical science can currently identify, much less measure or remedy. The fact that science can't measure ^it^ doesn't invalidate the experience. At least, I *think* that is what they were trying to tell me. Whatever ^it^ is that keeps giving me those god-awful symptoms, those symptoms are easier to manage with a little hope from the peer supporters who help me feel less alone with ^it^.
Welcome aboard. Hope you find stabilizing companionship here.
Remember your hormones were off before you got onto the medication. That is your body telling you something is going on with your system. Maybe the medication exacerbated or created a new imbalance in your system.... best of luck, but dont give up. Functional medicine Drs are the ticket, not western medicine, but if you do go the Dr route be sure you find one that knows their stuff and isnt throwing medication at a SYMPTOM but looks at the whole SYSTEM. Not all Drs are created equal. No matter what their qualifications say.
