Anyone else out there experience hives during anxiety? I was having a tough time last night and broke out real red and itchy on my chest, then it spread to all over. Even today, i still have resisual itchiness its uncomfortable, exhausting and it makes it hard for me to sleep. I've tried OTC stuff like benadryl and other allergy meds and they dont touch it. Hit baths do nothing.

1) wash your sheets with a non-allergetic or w/e wash just in case
2) You can try cool ice to calm them
3) Usually they have cortisol or over teh counter ich cream u can get
4) avoid scented lotions and sprays
5) try to make of list of anything different u may have done or have been doing to bring them on
6) if they are in fact stress induced, then u need to trick your body into thinking ur relaxed. i know this is hard but i deep breathe close my eyes, tell my something good thoughts, curl up in bed, and listen to soothing music, and drink water, or a bath.

a) itching sensation level and duration of level=action of movement
b) location and spread of itching sensation=physical symptom change position
c)keep a timeline of itching sensation=origin of anxiety physical symptom and often a fast natural solution
Where it is resting anxiety hives, I have found that keeping it comfortable often takes distracting the sensation, like a massage on the scalp, rubbing the feet, and getting something to drink.
Where it is acute anxiety hives, moving around often distracts the hives from spreading, and gives fast natural relief to the acute physical symptoms of itching.
When I am having the itching due to sinus reaction, I have to massage my nose, my eyebrow and around my eyes to get the sensation to ease off.
Best wishes finding what works for you.
Basically this is what I was told. I had contact dermatitis which was a reaction to an allergin. This made me feel itchy and I did get a few hives but the most bothersome was the itching. I initially thought that somehow I got body lice and became very stressed. I took hot showers, used bleach in laundry and sterilized everything. When i saw the dermatologist he said that I was actually making things worse and did not have any bugs or skin bacteria. He explained that the hot showers just agrivated things and now my skin had become super sensative to everything. The stress I felt even made the situation worse. It took a few weeks but was given a nivea type cream with no perfumes, had to use fragrance free detergents, use dove sensitive skin body wash, have lukewarm showers, not to dye hair or use make-up.
I later learned I was allergic to latex. Waistband, bras, underwear, bedding and even feminine pads often have latex in them. I still get flare-ups but not as bad.
