Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
Hi everyone. I never really reached out to discussion boards but I'm so worried and exhausted. I'm 51 have a two beautiful children and wonderful husband. I've dealt with anxiety all my life ups and downs and always pulled through. Recently I'm not sure what is happening but I believe it may be taking over again. I started feeling ill a few months ago (I'm sure the covid stress doesn't help ) first started with urinary problems and then Gi issues t the extent that I lost almost 10 lbs and can't eat without pain and cramping. I had a ct scan done and it looks ok. Having a colonoscopy this week. I'm concerned that the anxiety and stress brought this all on. It's so bad I can barely function every day. I'm not able to participate in my regular activities and it concerns me. I feel so weak and tired and anxious all the time. I try to stay strong in front of my teenage girls because I done want them to see this but I just sit on the couch all day with stomach pains and exhaustion. This is not me. I was always put and about running everywhere and involved. I'm not one for medication and I'm so afraid I will have a breakdown or become so weak that I will be brought to a doctor and put on medicine. I just want my life back. I don't know if the GI symptoms and worries caused the anxiety or vice Versa. I also had to say goodbye to my 13 year old dog 3 weeks ago which completely affected me. I don't know what to do. I don't want to be this way and I'm so scared. I was always a strong person and managed to make it through. Now I feel like I'm plunging and I'm just so scared. Thank you for listening and god bless all of you.

When i was in the ER February 16th 2025, i was being admitted to ICU where i was for 3 weeks, then had to relearn to walk for 3 weeks in another hospital rehab floor, the nurse told me something that made me feel for over 18 months now that i was finally *safe*. She told me that the guy who raped and beat me 21 years ago now almost 20 years at that time, was in prison as of a month before that...

Sometimes, I think I have ODD. I can be oppositional. It seems that the only times that I feel like cleaning are when I should be doing something else or I have to go somewhere. Well, not everytime but most of the time. Yesterday, I was supposed to be doing online training for work but instead, I decided to work on my kitchen table. Most of the time, I don't know where to start and give...

You followed my advice with such brilliance that I am going to follow up with a suggestion that you sit with this step a spell and see where it takes you. Just knowing I am not alone might helps me feel more confident to know what the next step should be.
Welcome to the forum, Shamrock. You are not alone. Listening. . .
Grief takes time. Grief affects us inside and outside. When caring for a senior pet that is showing signs of failing health, it can affect how we feel without us realizing it.
Keep a daily journal. Include a stick figure to show the pain, the way it travels and what is happening. Keep the journal private.
Take the time to write out your feelings about the things you've written in your journal, going sentence by sentence.
Separate the topics. This will help you sort through the patterns of your thoughts. Thinking about all of it together overloads your ability to be clear headed in the process.
Take time to stop, pause, breathe.
Best wishes as you find your better balance.
I’m trying to stop and breath. I pray for better balance. Thank you for your support
