Getting out of the situation helped me. Washing my face helped me. Cold water, shifted me from where I was.
Crying helped. I think there are chemicals in your tears that it helps to get rid of.
Getting through the time was very important, and also understanding that when I'm inside an attack what I think is real is very seldom real at all. So don't do anything about it!
If there is someone at your work who understands aspergers, they might be able to be a helper for you when things go bad. I used to look after a guy with aspergers at the last place I worked, because whenever he was told off he thought it was very real, when it was often maybe about 5% of what he thought it was. He would be very upset and he didn't always know if people were angry with him so I had to help him identify what people meant.
He tried so hard to be perfect; but nobody can be perfect. Also someone had done a number on his ego. He was so worth having around. He saved us thousands of dollars just because of his way of thinking. He had ideas the rest of us didn't have. He asked questions the rest of us didn't ask. He was incredibly worth having around, but often thought we thought he was less than ideal because of the things he wasn't good at.
I used to tell him to ignore the stuff he wasn't good at, anybody can do that. But not anybody could do what he did, that was for sure.
