Years ago, I won a mirrored armoire from my job. It's in my bedroom but I rarely stand in front of it. Yesterday, I had to have a dexascan done so I had to change into a gown. There was a full length mirror in the changing room. I'm aware that I gained 5 to 7 pounds over the last year from cheating on Keto but I didn't know what it looked like. It was a reality check.

Maybe the effort of hiding your anxiety is part of the problem. (Not sure, just guessing.) In my many years I have decided I should be as open as I can be, yet not to say things or do things which make others uneasy.
So it is kind of a fine line.
When I think someone or several ppl can deal with it okay, I may start letting it out. (Letting it out, how I feel bad.) If no one freaks out or gets jittery, I will let it out a little more.
So it can be by stages, when I tell someone I'm suffering.
/A doctor can have good words (wisdom) about what to do, but also the ideas of several friends.... Friends and respected ppl I get along good with. Ideas from them, several of them, not just two or three. This is called "generalized other" (or almost that) by sociologists. Am saying this: when I get a reaction from quite a number of people about my problem, whether feelings or trying for a promotion or buying a car -- then it helps me think it through.
I went to three psychiatrists or more before I found one who could see through me. I suddenly felt he understood and that was a load off my back.
good luck Rosa . ((((( R. )))))
