I'm new on here... umm... I don't really know how to say what I'm feeling and I don't even know if I have a mental disorder, but I have these really bad panic attacks and recently I just can't feel happy. Somehow everything seems to push me farther and farther into this slump. I don't know what to do. I can't sleep because I'm awake thinking about what I could've done that day to make myself happy. I think the first thing we have to learn is that our mind will agree with our feelings. So if we are feeling low, our mind will find a reason why.
And if we are anxious, our mind will find a crime for us to have committed to make sense of the feeling.
Once you figure all this out you can start to head this stuff off at the pass. I think some thoughts deserve to be gone through, and fully thunk. Others you can swipe away with the back of your hand before they've had a chance to get a grip on you.
You also have to remember: while you're obsessing about the dumb thing you said today, the person you said it to is obsessing about the dumb thing they said today. You're not alone in this feeling, it's part of the human condition, but working out that you don't have to feel it, and learning how to stop it getting to you, is also part of the human condition.
Go eat whether you want to or not, and get some vitamin B into your system. A lack of vitamin B will make this all spiral out of control until it's far larger than the reality and completely out of proportion.

Your mom is doing the best she can with her experience which is different than your experience. When the usual response no longer fits, the response changes. You change how you react, to making your well-being first, and it will change. Best wishes.
