I'm 62 years old, divorced 10 years now after 30 years of being married. I became disabled and needed a wheelchair and he couldn't handle it. A lot of shit has happened in the 10 years - too much to write about. Anyway, I've always thougtht of myself as depressed and been taking Effexor (now 75 mg.) but still feel very sad, cry all the time, and pray to go to sleep and die like my brother did. I'm too chicken to kill myself. Anyway, maybe I have anxiety? What's the difference? Will ask my doctor but just saw her and forgot.

Inside my personal skin, anxiety feels like part of my survival instinct. Life sucks, but somewhere in the confusion of hurt and fear, I still feel the drive to go on and the hope that things could be better. Depression is where I flat give up. I'm done. Please, Dear God, don't make me wake up in the morning.
So it *feels* to me. Gentle support while you find the words for your own feelings.
