You have taken an important step in writing it out.
Best wishes as you find your better balance naturally.
for what it's worth
what is currently being called, "IBS" runs through my birth family like a freight train and i have suffered it all my life. while my birth family has been pursuing the more respectable medical solutions with precious few sustainable results, i started treating it like a psych symptom since the 70's and flareups have grown into my front line indicator that my anxiety/PTSD is bubbling again. plying psychotherapy tools with the first gut rumbles has brought an end to those long, lonely days in bed with debilitating gut pain. it works when i work it.
steadying support while you find what works for you. welcome aboard.
but if the anxiety/ibs has escalated far enough that i am having trouble eating and/or keeping food down, easing the tummy pain becomes a play by play symptom relief game while i work my therapy tools for the emotional balance which provides the sustainable relief. the therapy supporters who help me work the therapy tools often provide surprising little tricks to help me through.
wish i had easier, more clear answers for both of us. it be a sticky, icky disorder, both literally and figuratively. gentle empathy of the ouch factor. rocking you gently and crying with you. you are not alone.
