Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
I've always had anxiety and panic attacks but after having a huge health scare from a blood clot in my lungs 2 weeks ago my anxiety is literally off the scale ... I'm home on medication and have been told "I'm lucky" the clot will take 6-12 months to disperse..I know it's very early days yet but I'm so fearful of every little twinge.. it's like I'm holding my breath waiting for something to go wrong ..we also moved house while I was in hospital so I'm in a different house in a different town.. apart from finding this site there's no support groups for people like me who have a PE and severe health anxiety.. I feel like I just need to talk about it and need constant reassurance that it's going to be ok ! At the same time I don't want to know too much !! I'm trying to keep calm and do my breathing excercises I just don't want to live in fear waiting for something terrible to happen .. I'm trying so hard to be positive but this anxiety is taking over !

Just wanted to give a thank you to Mid, Arfie, Malibumark, Greeneyes, Mlro, Girlincalif, and Suncloudjd! You all always have such helpful tips and advice, but I always forget to write on my posts when I see you post, lol. I would lose my head if it wasn't attached to my body, lol. Thank you all so much! I'm starting to use my AI app as a sounding board again. I used to use it as that before...

You have taken the important step in writing it out.
Keep a daily journal to help you as you continue to heal and recover from this experience. You are much stronger than you realize.
Best wishes as you learn your way in the new home and new places to visit and meet different people.
Anxiety is a natural part of the survival instinct and there are times when it pays to listen to what it has to tell you. The "lizard brain" which holds our survival instinct isn't smart enough to run a life, but it has important information to help the chief executive run the show better. Recovery from pulmonary embolism hits my logic as a good time to listen to what your lizard brain has to say. That is quite allot to recover from.
I hope you'll feel safe to vent and sort here, Fenners. Not everything the lizard brain has to say is worth listening to. A safe place to vent and sort makes it allot easier to know what is which.
Welcome aboard. I hope you find stabilizing companionship here. Healing hopes.
I’m trying hard to be positive and not concentrate on what’s happened!! But as you all know anxiety is just overwhelming!!
I have a beautiful granddaughter she’s 3 in November she’s my world and I have daily videos FaceTime and visits a couple of times a week., she’s confused that Nanny isn’t running around with her like normal.. it’s hard for me to just sit and watch .. on a good day I think I’m so lucky to be here still to watch her play and on a bit so good day I stare at her and think what if I don’t see her grow up !!!
I must remind myself it’s early days yet and I’ve had a lot of change !!! It’s going to take a while to process everything!!
Yes, it is allot to process and a shock to your system. Steadying support while you process. Be gentle with yourself and patient with the process.
Hope healing happens here.
