Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
Hi guys and girls, I'm new here. I've suffered from OCD, generalized panic disorder, and anxiety for most of my life. I went into "remission" for a few years... I never thought I'd be in the mental space again...but here I am.
It started with just not feeling good, then I for some reason checked my blood pressure and my pulse, only to find they were both extremely high. I began researching and diagnosed myself with lung cancer, hypercalcemia, diabetes amongst other things. I then developed the most horrendous back and leg pain I could imagine along with twitches.. which I then diagnosed as ALS,MS and 10 different kinds of cancers. I went to the Dr who did a bunch of blood work and after it all came back normal she assured me I'm fine.
I'm still having rotten back and leg pain which is at is worst when I get out of bed. I have no energy.. I'm tired, I can't focus and I feel like I might actually be dying. Is there anyone else who feels like I do?
I've worked in healthcare for years and I'm a nursing student. As much as I love doing what I do, sometimes knowing more than the average bean is somewhat of a curse

Just wanted to give a thank you to Mid, Arfie, Malibumark, Greeneyes, Mlro, Girlincalif, and Suncloudjd! You all always have such helpful tips and advice, but I always forget to write on my posts when I see you post, lol. I would lose my head if it wasn't attached to my body, lol. Thank you all so much! I'm starting to use my AI app as a sounding board again. I used to use it as that before...

Hey all, i know its been quite awhile since i posted on here. Its been a summer all right. Its been something else........... You know how they say not to open the can of worms? Well a few months ago i decided to find out what my due date would have been for my first baby, the one conceived by r***. My baby would have been due on March 4th of 2006. They would be 20 years old. I was R**** on June...

You've taken the important first step in writing it out.
Anxiety affects you in all the ways you shared here.
Practice even breathing, stay hydrated, and write daily in a private journal.
And that research and thinking of everything you could have is common in high functioning anxiety state.
Every time you find yourself following that, focus on the current and knowledge that all is well - your brain has to catch up to the physical changes.
Best wishes as you find your better balance.
I don't know why they say bad people go to hell... I'm a good person, and every day I feel this way, I feel like I'm living in the depths of my own hell.
Thank you so much for your response
I'm far more skilled in engineering than nursing, but I seem to recall a medical adage that a doctor who treats him/herself has a fool for a patient. An objective, professionally detached eye can make all the diff in accurate diagnosis and effective treatment. So I've heard. . . Am I only flaunting my ignorance?
Setting that wonder aside for more highly trained management. . .
The understanding of anxiety which has been forced on my engineered ignorance has me utterly convinced that support from fellow sufferers can be even more helpful than professional detachment. Here we are, offering proof that you are not alone with the psychotic weirdings of anxiety.
Welcome aboard. Vent freely. Vent often. Listening. . .
I 100 percent agree... I have no business trying to diagnose myself. With myself I am not rational, or objective.
Could you imagine if I had a patient with my syptoms, and I decided to tell them they must be dying??.
Unfortunately, I *can* imagine a doctor deciding to tell a patient with good insurance that they are dying so they can file all those extra insurance claims. That very angst is on the list which has had me medical distancing since 1995 when I became old enough to qualify for the first wave of age related tests.
