Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
Woke up feeling a bit anxious this morning. Nothing overwhelming, but definitely there. I laid and focused on deep breathing for a while as I continued to slowly wake up. Then, as I was journaling, I thought that I could use the anxiety. Something I've been working on lately is daily maintenance... meditation, relaxation exercises, stuff like that to help with managing stress and anxiety and to learn to reframe anxiety and difficult emotions. If things are going well, and I'm not having to deal with discomfort, I start the deprioritize the maintenance and either start skipping things or squeezing them in somewhere just to be able to check the box that I did them. It's a thing I'm aware of and am actually trying to work on right now. So with anxiety showing up for a visit I thought I'd reframe it from, "ugh... anxious feelings, great." to "well, this will give me an opportunity to work on things and a motivation to get my maintenance back on track". I mean, why should the anxiety be the only one getting something out of these visits? For the moment, at least, that seems to have deflated the feelings some and taken some of the ferocity out of the bark.

I haven't written in my diary on my computer since May because I thought that my computer was dying. I got away from writing but my computer is hanging in there. I think that I will start writing in it again. It's so therapeutic.

Years ago, I won a mirrored armoire from my job. It's in my bedroom but I rarely stand in front of it. Yesterday, I had to have a dexascan done so I had to change into a gown. There was a full length mirror in the changing room. I'm aware that I gained 5 to 7 pounds over the last year from cheating on Keto but I didn't know what it looked like. It was a reality check.
Hurrah!
The more I ply radical acceptance to my psychoticks, the more easily I can manage them. Passing judgement on them takes quite of energy and skews my focus just enough to exacerbate them.
