Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...

i've been dealing with head lice on two girls, grades first and fourth. the first round was 2020 when the eldest started pre-k. my first parenting career was all boys, so i was in shock to discover the inside view of raising girls. i worked field work in construction and engineering, so i didn't even have the womanly exposure to prepare me for this aspect of raising girls. this year's head lice have us all reduced to tears. literally. elementary school style tears. can the media image of the beautiful woman sniffling with care to not muss her make-up. i'm talking the floor kicking, empowerd barbie tantrum style of tears. add the quieter tears of heartbreak that their maternal aunt is threatening ostracation for the crime of head lice. they will probably not have the summer visit with the maternal family because of them.
there is only one known cure for head lice. shave your head. in my case, it was also a cure for the hot flashes of menopause. i have been using that cure since 1995. i no longer experience hot flashes, but i have grown quite fond of that clean, full exposure feel of a fresh buzz. i still shave my head just cause i like the way it feels. the lower maintenance rocks, too.
girl, howdy, the world disagrees. loudly. vociferously. prolifically. is it cultural progress that i no longer have to listen to sick cancer girl jokes after i buzz my head? keep your mean girl jabs away from my ailing sisters! ! ! for my two long-haired princesses, when they complain about the lice treatments, i quietly remind them that the cure is still available. maybe i should start bringing out the hair clippers before the treatment begins.
girl hair. . . explicame, por favor.
just venting. . .

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

I haven't written in my diary on my computer since May because I thought that my computer was dying. I got away from writing but my computer is hanging in there. I think that I will start writing in it again. It's so therapeutic.

It was a pain in the rear end.
My youngest also ended up getting them. But he enjoys being shaved. So much easier.
Now, they have a device that lasers the lice on contact. In the event my household has to deal with it again, I may purchase it just to try out a new toy?
theoretically, the haircuts are the only significant difference between girl hair and boy hair. parenting wise, the diffs are HUGE.
update
the 10 year old girl volunteered to shave my head for me. i have grown quite addicted to the fresh clean feel of a buzz. the girl lice look clear for the moment, but after 6 years of this battle, i don't feel very confident. some of the macho girl cartoons have make-over guns they shoot their enemies with. do they have one of those for head lice?
