General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...

Hi I'm new here. This time last week I was in A&E with dizzyness, very high pulse and breathlessness. I was checked over as I had a heart issue 10 years ago and I was sure it was happening again. My heart was pounding. They wouldn't let me go untill my pulse that was 136 lowered to under 115 and 7 hours later I was sent home with advice to speak to my GP Monday to be put onto Propanalol. I have done that but still feel the same 4 days after starting them. I can't understand how anxiety has done this. I'm in a bit of a way today because my partner keeps saying it will go away if I stop obsessing over it but I feel so poorly with the dizzyness I can't help think something is wrong with me. Do other people deal with this at all and if so how can I help myself?

Yes, my anxiety gives me quite allot of physical symptoms. No, those symptoms are not "All In My Head." Many of our organs react to prolonged anxiety and the damage can become life threatening and/or permanent if the anxiety is not remedied. Many doctors believe anxiety is the number one cause of heart attacks, to name only one example.

Yes, I find it annoying when people close to me don't "get it" with my anxiety. I think it's because they can't *see* anything wrong with me, so there must not be anything wrong. Ugh.
If the propanalol isn't helping, call your doctor's office and leave a detailed message. They will get back to you.
Try to take it easy this weekend, make sure and take care of YOU, and I hope you feel better soon.
Check your hydration level. Keep a daily journal to help you sort through everything.
Best wishes as you find your better balance.
Also dehydration can cause dizziness. But so can anxiety. So do stay hydrated. I drink a lot of water!!!
Keep writing...
And journaling does really help.
