This may not help you and maybe your symptoms are anxiety and mine is not, idk :/
But it was a prolonged period of high stress (plus I've had GAD ever since childhood), that brought THAT out.
So maybe it's the Anxiety that causes it.
Maybe once the stress of the holidays is all over with and you don't have anywhere near as many things to do, you'll get back to your old self!!!
And if you're on any kind of medication -- for anything -- see if what your experiencing could be a side effect.
I had to stop taking Neurontin because it dumbed me down so much. (It isn't nick-named 'Morontin' for nothing!!!)
I hope that this is just a temporary thing you're dealing with and that you have your usual sharp memory back soon!!!

I believe I've read somewhere that memory problems are a symptom of anxiety. I guess it makes sense. Worrying takes up a lot of energy and brain power. I personally have noticed my memory worsening when my anxiety is especially bad.
I don't think there's anything wrong with you, so I would not worry about that. Sounds like your memory problems are a result of anxiety, so as your anxiety improves, your memory should improve as well.
