In my own psychoses(pl), comparing my insides to other people's outsides is pretty high on the list of destructive habits. For starters, it is not a fair comparison. No matter how well I know another person, I don't have direct access to information on what is happening inside of them. Even if I ask specific questions and they are comfortable answering, the human psyche is a mysterious and complex weave.

When those symptoms are raging, I feel like a nuisance to everybody and can barely hear, much less believe assurances that I welcome. Difficulty trusting others is one of those isolating symptoms.
It's not an easy psychotick to manage, but it is easier when I have emotional support from people who understand. On my good days, I can even believe them when they say they understand. Works in progress. . .
I hope to count you as one of those people who understand, Kim. United, we can heal. Welcome aboard.
