Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
Hello everybody,
This is my first time posting since joining in 2022. I have been way too scared to post but I thought I would give it a shot..
I am a super anxious person, particularly in social settings and I guess it doesn't help that I recently started work in a retail sales role. Facing strangers on a regular basis really affects me in a terrible way but I do it for the money of course because bills don't stop when I really want to stop all together. I also do it for the exposure, although I haven't been managing well at all lately..
Sometimes I look to the people around me and long for the wholeness they exude. I want to be as strong as my loved ones and tough it out but I can't help but feel like I am drowning after every set back. Self worth has defintely taken a blow but I am grateful for the support of my family who treat me with love and kindess even though it feels like I am broken.
I've tried medication and seeing a psychologist but I've recently fallen off the tracks. I'm going to try again to see if I can help myself. It can be scary and overwhelming but I know if I don't try, I'll fall further and all progress will be down the drain.
To all my friends out there suffering with anxiety and depression just know I'm cheering on the sidelines for you. We can do this. Some days its hard and we might not want to get out of bed but the fact that we keep going makes us some of the strongest people in this world. Keep your chin up and keep going!
Thanks for reading :)

I did the dumbest thing today. I charged my earbuds, unplugged the block and put the block in my little bag instead of the earbuds. I wasn't happy about that when I got to the gym. What a dummy!

Ever since I stopped doing therapy because of insurance, I've been feeling that old tense and irritable sense of anxiety and stress. I hate that. I was making so many strides and changes during therapy, my therapist would acknowledge all of my progress and accomplishments, and I miss that reassurance. Today I thought about it, and I made those changes! She would always tell me that I chose to...
You are doing amazing dealing with all that. Keep fighting, keep working on helping yourself. You can do this, the anxiety lies and you are so much stronger than your anxiety tells you you are.
an irony which helped me past the certainty that i am the only anxious freakazoid on the planet is how often i have been envied for my apparent serenity while in the midst of a psychotic break. apparently, dissociative catatonia **looks** great on the outside. sign me up for the cover of vogue magazine. my anorexia gives me the figure for it. bring in the make-up artists and i can have the face for it, too.
a cornerstone of my own anxiety management is to keep ^it^ strictly personal. major anxiety attacks are verily guaranteed when i start comparing my insides to other people's outsides.
but that is me and every case is unique. . .
gentle support while you sort your own case. you are not alone.
