Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...

For the past year, I've been in an emotionally abusive relationship. My anxiety went into full swing when I started dating this person, because we were constantly arguing over betrayal and lies that made me feel so vulnerable. He kept telling me it was all me and that I caused him to do the things he did...and after a while, I believed him.
I was never certain if it truly was him or not. The fear of being alone and still feeling anxious/panicky when all of my friends have significant others terrified me. I hate admitting that. I'm only 23, and I'm in graduate school...it's not like I'm on a deadline for love/marriage/kids.
I have a lot of heartbreak in my past. A friend who committed suicide, an ex who overdosed and passed away and a fiance who broke up with over the phone without giving a reason (who I never saw again).
Yesterday, my boyfriend and I had a huge argument, where I totally broke down. I cried and screamed, and he laughed at me. Just laughed. He told me I was all alone in the world, and that in time i would lose my family and friends.
Afterwards, while still on the phone, I could feel my heart skipping around, and when I checked my pulse...it was not beating evenly at all. I was terrified. After I calmed down, it went back to normal...but this was the first time I realized that it truly was him that was causing my physical/emotional/mental state.
I have since blocked him and ignored his calls. I'm just so scared now. I'm scared I'm dying of some heart condition (even though I can clearly see the cause and effect) and I'm scared I'll always be alone.
Thanks for reading.

I did the dumbest thing today. I charged my earbuds, unplugged the block and put the block in my little bag instead of the earbuds. I wasn't happy about that when I got to the gym. What a dummy!

Years ago, I won a mirrored armoire from my job. It's in my bedroom but I rarely stand in front of it. Yesterday, I had to have a dexascan done so I had to change into a gown. There was a full length mirror in the changing room. I'm aware that I gained 5 to 7 pounds over the last year from cheating on Keto but I didn't know what it looked like. It was a reality check.

Good for you about your decision. With relationships, it really boils down to whether you get a net positive effect and I think you came to your answer. Good luck.

I think your anxiety will calm as you move forward. Good Luck to you!
Your physical sensations are PA and knowing that is what it is and NOT a heart attack will help you for future. Some people have only 1 and then never again. Others struggle with this for awhile.
Stop, and observe your thoughts, and symptoms. Give them a rating (scale of 1 to 10). Talk things through to yourself. "Wow, I am feeling anxious. I feel like I am at a 9 and it is making my heart skip" I know this is the worst I can feel so I have made it through and this will pass in a minute or two. I am going to work on my breathing and recheck my scale again in a minute." Practice belly breathing. Don't know how? Visit this websitehttp://www.paniccure.com/. Recheck your anxiety rating. Are you still feeling at a 9? Then repeat. You will see for yourself that it does pass, you are OK (shaken up) but physically OK.
I congratulate you on loving yourself enough to see that the relationship was hurting you and making that COURAGEOUS step to end it.
