Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. Hello...my name is Misti.
I have not been on here in a while because life has been hectic, but anxiety has hit me full force and just needed to vent.
In the last few years a lot has happened....we bought a house, had a baby, moved a month after having the baby, and a lot of small things in between. I have had issues with anxiety for about 4 years now, but after having my baby (this is my 4th child) my anxiety has snowballed into a monster. I have had some issues with my back and it has all started all over again.
Lately, I have had some problems with my shoulder and have no idea why. I have been to the doctor over and over and they do nothing. I am currently in physical therapy and it is not helping. This makes my anxiety worse when my shoulder flares. Anyway, a few months ago I was having episodes with shortness of breath and heart palpatations. I was sure my heart was failing (they did find a heart murmur), so I was sent to the cardiologist. he ran a battery of tests on me (blood, EKG, holter, ECHO, and some other stuff) and all came out fine. After that the shortness of breath and palps stopped. Well now I am having shakiness all day everyday. Along with the pains in my body and the shakiness I am now convinced I have MS or something like that. Now today I started my period for the 2nd time this month and I literally feel like I am falling apart. I am only 35 years old and I have 4 kids to take care of. My husband works nights, so this is really taking a toll on me....it is an endless cycle!!

Recently I was diagnosed with essential tremor (explains the shaking), and the medication I'm taking for it is a migraine medication that is doing amazing things for the pain in my neck and back. Can you talk to your doctor about the tremor, and about the possibility of atypical migraines?
For now, can you think of one nice thing to do for yourself, and do it? A cup of tea in bed for the last five minutes before falling asleep (which I know is the first five minutes before the baby wakes up), or a favorite TV show, or a cookie? Something that lets you tell yourself how special you are.
And yes, definitely give yourself a five minute treat. I used to do mine in the bathroom, ( only place with any quiet moments).
Best wishes!
