I have never gotten the flu shot or any of the COVID vaccines. I'm sorry that you aren't feeling well. That sucks! Stress sucks too!

seems to me i ALWAYS feel like this. i seem to have a new list of reasons every day. i try to stay mindful to the special needs of the items on that LFL (long fucking list) and shoot too keep the LOL on my LFL. some days that is easier than others.

I feel depressed because I got the flu shot and that I had two seizures. One in March and the one last week. I had been going through a lot of stress from hearing things that depresses me to seeing things happen that was surprising.

I never get a covid shot because I don't know what it will do to me. I remember a family member giving me a lecture about why I should get one. I did not pay them any mind. I remember hearing about a lady who got covid shot and it messed up her limbs. She had to learn how to walk again. I heard too many bad stuff about it but I am surprised with the flu shot.

One part of me seems fine. I went out to vote, because I have not voted in a while, I had to go back to speak with clerk so she could update my information so my vote can be counted. I am looking forward to on tuesday 5th of November. I plan to have popcorn and juice. I am not a tv watcher nor a person who is in the politics but it is something to look forward to rather than stress.

I am sorry you are feeling so bad, Winter. Maybe it was partially the flu shot plus then some virus you were exposed to could not be killed by your immune system as it dealt with the flu shot. I had my last flu shot in 2019 and 6 days later I got shingles and that is a common side effect from the flu shot I was told by the doctor. I had a covid vaccine injury and was followed by the CDC for a year and so I don't do the boosters either. I need to get my tetanus shot but honestly, I am having so much trouble dealing with my hip soft tissue injury that I just don't want to stress my body. I had the shingrex shot for shingles after I had shingles in 2020 and my husband got shingles from his flu shot last year. He got the covid shot with the flu shot in different arms. And he then gave me shingles. Turns out the shingrex shot is like the covid shot - is supposed to help you not get such a bad case. Glad you are feeling better. Sometimes our bodies just do their own thing.

I get the flu shot every year. I got my flu shot one week ago. I didn't feel anything. Maybe a slightly sore arm for that day. No symptoms of anything.

The nurse giving me the flu shot said if I have a headache or slight body aches, to take Tylenol, but not to take Motrin or Advil.

I didn't have any aches. Almost felt like I didn't get any shot at all. But I usually don't get any symptoms from the shot.

I'm sorry you're experiencing coughing. I have not heard that is a symptom of the flu shot. You might have coughing from some other reason. If any doubt, call your doctor and ask what they think about this. Hope you feel better soon.

Like yourself GirlinCalif, previously when I got the flu shot I did not feel anything nor had any side effects. I take Dilantin for seizures, my immune system is low. One night I was playing the Sega game I had purchased when I was in my 20s. I fell off to sleep and fell out the chair I was sitting in. When I hit the floor I was still asleep but noticed on my left arm it is bruised. I keep it covered because I do not want anyone to see it because I don't want the many questions. For example why is the bruise there, how did it happen and yada.

My mom got a sore throat and it is scaring the mess out of her.

Despite the flue shot, and covid shot (which I didn't get this year, got the flu shot) You can still get sick, I have a bad cough myself and a head ache, I tested for covid, with the home test kit......Don't have it.

I think Covid can mimic cold symptoms, so, testing for covid doesn't hurt.

Sorry your Mom has a sore throat. Maybe you also had a little cold, and that's why you felt bad the last few days?

Get lots of rest. And drink extra fluids... water, juice, etc.

If it gets worse, please contact your doctor.

I am feeling a little better every day, I am beginning to feel myself, I am talking clearly and just but I would not take the covid shot. I feel that if the regular flu shot is making me feel bad, the covid shot will probably be worse.

I was told drinking a lot of fluids and getting a lot of rest will help the body heal. I am doing both drinking fluids and getting rest, in hopes it would help me feel much better. It helps me feel much better but guess it would take a few weeks for my body to feel normal again. I know one thing, I am having second thoughts about getting a flu shot next year because I would probably be nervous of feeling terrible again.

Before I got the flu shot on November 1, 2024, I was not feeling bad at all. I was able to smell, and I did not have a cough. After the flu shot, I began to feel terrible. I certainly would not let anyone talk me into getting a covid shot. I figure if getting a regular flu shot made me sick what would covid shot do to me?

The last time I had felt bad because of the flu was in 1979, when I was 10 years old. During that time, because of the flu, my smell was effect (I could not smell much, making me think something was wrong with my smell,) I had a terrible taste in my mouth, it was a sticky taste. I never had a flu shot then because I did not know what a flu shot was; if someone mention to me about getting one, I would think they were telling me a story.

It takes about 7 days to get over a bad cold. You're coming up on 7 days now. Are you certain you didn't have any cough or cold symptoms at all before the flu shot?

I haven't heard of a cough being a symptom of the flu shot. The nurse that gave me my flu shot said possible headache, back ache, muscle aches.. Nothing else.

Hate to say it, and not trying to scare you, but loss of smell and taste, and a cough, are common symptoms of Covid. Would you consider taking a Covid test?

Yes, I have. There has been a nasty cold for example going through my house but what makes it 10x worse is if my anxiety gets the best of me and I start worrying about getting better fast enough or missing work etc.. Stress can exasperate symptoms and you very well could have had a bug in you prior to the shot. I know they say it doesn’t give you the flu but having a reaction to the shot is an immune response and can happen. Try to rest and read and drink fluids. Keep a positive mindset if can and perhaps journal your thoughts to get them out of your head.
