Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
1) In social situations just be like: "Hey, sorry I'm seem like I'm spacing I just get nervous in social situations." It's the truth so just let it sit.
2) Imagine you're the queen bee, try to psych yourself up before any situation that makes you anxious with some "I'm so cool I kill everything I come across! I am the Best!" music.
3) If your brain seems to be to empty or open while doing HW listen to some slow beat or smooth melody music on low to fill up your brain so the part that is left can focus on the HW, also break it up in manageable parts, even if its a paragraph at a time.
4) Write everything the teacher is saying down (again filling the empty spaces) and get a classmate's thorough notes if all else fails. Remember: everything takes practice; it took me years to learn to do this effectively. I hope this helps, if not I hope something someone else says will help you :) Hugs!
I know I posted this several days ago, but I've been meaning to thank you all for your kind replies. Thank you for being so understanding and reassuring me that I am not stupid or crazy for experiencing this. I hope that some day soon I won't feel this way anymore. And I wish the best to all of you as well.
I read yesterday that depression makes a person less able to think clearly. --Well, by a little bit I figure.
FYI
I have competitive tendancies, and IMO I sometimes have unrealistic goals. So several times in therapy it has been concluded that if I were less demanding of myself, well I'd feel less guilty when I don't do something exactly as expected.
I don't know if your all-A's are important to getting into /some program in the future/ ... Cuz if they are not, I sure think if you backed off a bit & looked for 3.6 and 3.7 GPA's
U could enjoy life more and have a more secure prospect.
(Am thinking 'sustainability.')
I know how it feels to no longer have a fine control of one's thots and clarity. But have decided sometimes some can be lost...in the interests of seeing the bigger picture (incl social awareness/consciousness.
