I am a carer for my daughter I am sick and tired of the position we are in. I am married. My husband is coming up to retirement but doesnt work. He used to work but things have happened to stop him.
I am fed up with my position:
Caring for my daughter for 24 years is getting to me.
We dont have enough money and are having money problems
The windows need replacing badly but we cant afford those and never will
Our kitchen needs re newing but we cant afford thant and also never will
I dont see our position changing.
My parents are dead, as is Gareth's my cousins I grew up with live hundreds of miles away.
I have no local family, very few friends, I'm lonely, wish I could have some fun.
Emma gets all the help she can. I cant get another council grant for about 9 years.
I am finding my caring role unfulfilling now, wish I was working with a proper job that earns real money, not just £70 per week approx.
I want to run away, if I had anywhere to go that is!
Help!

I haven't written in my diary on my computer since May because I thought that my computer was dying. I got away from writing but my computer is hanging in there. I think that I will start writing in it again. It's so therapeutic.

First, I hope everyone is doing well, and continuing to fight that good fight! Keep up the great work on yourselves; I'm rooting for all of you!So, I started doing therapy at the beginning of the year, when I was in my most depressed state, but with my therapist, I made big changes and steps in the right direction. But, over a month ago, she couldn't take my insurance anymore, and I had to stop...
Here you can find pen pals and I hope you find some solace in that!
Do you have any hobbies that you enjoy? Whenever I feel lonely or don't have the funding to go on vacation or out with friends, I enjoy writing. Journaling was advice someone gave me on this forum and it helps a lot!
You sound like a wonderful person. Being a caretaker is one of the hardest jobs on the planet and bless you for doing so for so many years.
If not, then maybe you could find online friends to talk to :) Someone to skype, facetime, call, or even just email.
You are doing an incredible thing by caring for your daughter, and honestly it is not something anyone should have to do alone. All the best.
Also, talking to the people in your life might help too. For example you might discuss with your husband how you feel and things that you would like to change. Another thing might be looking into a part time job if it would work with care giving. I know that for me having a regular paying job takes a lot of stress off even if it isn't much more income. I hope you feel better and wish you the best.
The other problem is we have a major damp problem, that is causing discolouring on the walls, major discolouring on the walls.
Of this? Is he disabled ?
If he is an able body he should be sharing half of the burden so you can go to work.
I think the solution here is for you to go and work. It will raise your self-esteem, provide you with satisfaction of life, create much-needed relationships outside of your home life, make you love your daughter more because you will have a break from the constant nurse duty, and it will improve your relationship with your husband.
Hugs... hope it gets better for you!!! You are a trooper.
