Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...

im sitting here trying to think about the last time I really felt normal. Like the last time I didn’t let fear take over my reasoning. I don’t know if it happened overnight or a little at a time. Now the fear is constantly there. It comes as anxiety and depression. I honestly believe that’s where things went wrong with me. I didn’t want to upset the Apple cart as they say. Instead of just making that one decision that one time, I let fear intervene. Now I have to deal with the repercussions and that’s where the stress and stuff comes from. I knew what I had to do and I didn’t. Now sometimes i feel like the anxiety and depression is punishment for not taking action when I had the chance. It’s a viscous cycle you know. I post this in hopes that it could help someone out. Sometimes you have to get a little uncomfortable for things to be comfortable. I had someone equate it to taking off a band-aid. You try to peel it off slowly and it hurts the whole time. If you just ripped it off it would only hurt that second.

Hello- I am new to the group
A recurring theme in my personal psycho weirds is where yesterday's solution becomes tomorrow's problem. E.g. stuffing my emotions for the sake of not upsetting the proverbial apple cart often gets me through the immediate situation, but comes back later as anxiety, resentment, etc. I am currently attempting to treat my own version of the phenom like a balancing act. If I have to suppress an emotion for the sake of expedience, I balance the suppression by finding a way to express the suppressed emotion later on. The treatment seems to be helping, but it is a works in progress.
