Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...

Its so exhausting going through life constantly obsessing over everything. Living in a state of fear and worry. Life is so difficult and I sadly am not very good at it. I have been this way forever as far back as I can remember.
Something as simple as leaving the house brings so much anxiety. Not even sure why. All of this covid 19 stuff has giving me the excuse to stay home alot and I honestly could stay home forever. I work from home and only leave the confines of my home on Fridays to do a few work related things. By Thursday the anxiety and fear really has me in an uproar so bad that its almost near impossible to sleep that night. I dont like dealing with people.
I am married and have 3 awesome kids. I'm around my kids all the time and that's great. They don't know it but they really help me get through the days. I recently talked to my spouse about all this and it seemed to go well. She doesn't really understand it since she doesn't have issues with stuff like this. She makes comments like we got to get you help. Shes more optimistic then I am.
Part of me regrets saying anything because now I am scared she may leave me because I am such a week person. She hasn't given me any indication that she will but it's another thing for me to obsess over.
I'm new to this group thing and its out of my comfort zone. Thanks

Does anyone follow her? She's really got some good tips.

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

Glad you found this sight. You will find out you are not alone in all this. I agree with your wife, you need help. Go see you doctor. Tell him exactly how you are feeling. There is help out there.. talking to your wife was a big step, good for you. Hope you get the help you need.
Better days ahead.
One of the best things you did is to write it out. That is the most important first step in finding your better balance.
It is hard to get back into the routine of being out and about and doing activities after being home.
Take time to walk and do fun activities with your family. Take time to relax outside.
Best wishes as you find your better balance.
I new to the group as well, but I’ve found it to be a very positive and supportive place.
I understand that feeling of constant anxiety and having a spouse who is optimistic but doesn’t understand the stress.
Some members recommended that I dedicate a time to worrying and write down what’s bothering me. Then I can assess what/if anything can be down about each concern. This might help you reduce the constant worry by devoting a designated amount of time to it.
Hope you find some peace.
weak. I had anxiety bad all my life also. Going to a therapist helped a lot.
Then I went on medication. That helped more. Try to go to a specialist in
anxiety if possible. Its great that your spouse is supportive..
My mother is going through anxiety and panic real bad. Early in the morning, when everyone is in bed asleep or just resting quietly, my mother calls a crisis number to talk to someone, sometimes they (the counselor from the crisis line) will call the police.
I got the anxiety thing. Sometimes I have it too but its not so bad, my mother's anxiety is worse than mine. I am resenting some things that had happened and some people.
It’s great that you were able to talk to your wife. Keep reaching out. Help is out there
Social anxiety had me socially marginalized long before the Corona powers-that-be declared social distancing to be a good thing. My feral heart has wanted to seize the excuse to invalidate the decades of therapy it took to get me to come in from the wild. My lifelong conditioning is run to the wilderness when I want to isolate, to the extent where I have been invited to lead wilderness survival workshops. I never could get myself to be that social.
At present I have 3 foster children who are holding me in Coronaville isolation instead of following my feral heart. . . That excuse is both blessing and curse. I cope by sharing often and freely within what Coronaville allows of my therapy support network. I sure miss my live support groups, but DS is a fair compensation. I hope it serves you as well as it has served me.
Welcome aboard. I hope you find stabilizing companionship here. You are not alone.
I think we all need to be aware of how anxiety can cloud our thinking about how things really are. There is help. And there is a light at the end of the tunnel.
Be kind to yourself.
You are worth it.
I managed to go outside today and socialize. My father stoped by and we just set outside in the nice weather and chatted for a bit.
Just general things. Never really talked to my father about real personal stuff. It was nice though. I did start off a bit nervous but by the time he left I was in a pretty good place.
I always seem to wear this mask to the outside world. A mask that everything is ok. But underneath its a total wreck.
Thanks again guys you all have really made feel welcome.
In between the PTSD flashbacks I reflect often about pre-Corona psychotherapy discussions of social masking. I am fine. How are you?
Sigh. . .
The crazies now will later be sane
For the times they are a-changing
Congrats on your brave step forward with that pleasant visit outside.
