Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
About 15 months ago, I suffered from a spine injury while playing mud volleyball. This long painful journey has forced me to change my very active lifestyle to a rather low key one.. which is one struggle I face. The other frustration besides the pretty constant pain is that I have. Even fighting with my insurance for 5 months to get a test which will lead to surgery. The process is infuriating because I have no idea what SHOULD be happening.. as a 25 year old who just bought her own home.. it's hard to find a balance between the stresses.
Finally- my moms alcoholism and emotionally abusive behaviors are not exactly helping what I'm trying to accomplish in life... so I'm looking for support elsewhere. My boyfriend is as supportive as anyone could ask for... but with him on midnights.. it's tough!
The overwhelming feeling is becoming constant. Can't sleep, stress eating, snapping on everyone... damn anxiety!!!

Years ago, I won a mirrored armoire from my job. It's in my bedroom but I rarely stand in front of it. Yesterday, I had to have a dexascan done so I had to change into a gown. There was a full length mirror in the changing room. I'm aware that I gained 5 to 7 pounds over the last year from cheating on Keto but I didn't know what it looked like. It was a reality check.
Since I have some experience of facing my fears, I was able to calm down and see what exactly I was afraid of. Once I realized that I was scared, I was able to get rid of my mental anxiety. (I used to have physical anxiety but that was years ago)
Even if you are not an alcoholic, the Serenity Prayers helps.
God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.
Living one day at a time;
enjoying one moment at a time;
accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
taking, as He did, this sinful world
as it is, not as I would have it;
trusting that He will make all things right
if I surrender to His Will;
