General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...

Is there like, driving therapy or something?
I'm 23 and have been trying to get my license for 7 years. I went 4 years with a non driving ID, then I got my permit, and it expires soon.
I've tried to get my license several times.
I know how to drive and I can drive, but I fail things on the test like I can't do a 3 point turn and I can't parallel park
but I get really really anxious and scared when driving. especially if transfer trucks are near me.
I have panic attacks and cry sometimes when transfer trucks go by me and I will hold my breath and stare at them. my blood goes cold. I get so scared. this is not only just driving but also just riding in the car.
is there some sort of therapy I can go to??
nobody takes me seriously when I say I am scared of transfer trucks

Years ago, I won a mirrored armoire from my job. It's in my bedroom but I rarely stand in front of it. Yesterday, I had to have a dexascan done so I had to change into a gown. There was a full length mirror in the changing room. I'm aware that I gained 5 to 7 pounds over the last year from cheating on Keto but I didn't know what it looked like. It was a reality check.

"don't be a hate hole" has been one of my recent mantras which seems to be escaping my mouth more and more often. it emerges when i am faced with the endless list of chores i would rather not deal with. insurance. head lice. bureaucracy. in-laws. the list goes on and on and on and on, ad infinitum.reality checks requested. am i making sense?"ever'thin they is but loving leaves a rust on your...

My best advice is exposure. Expose yourself to the situation that makes you nervous and get through the anxiety attack and expierence the calming down portion in the situation that triggers it to begin with. This way your mind learns that a threatening situation can also be a calm situation.
However if you do get panic attacks while driving, maybe the first step is just feeling comfortable in cars while other people drive. Good luck.
I'd suggest thinking about how you can get around without the anxiety. Is it easier to uber or cab or bus? Most towns also have vans that will pick up people with disabilities and take them wherever they need to go - for free!
Bottom line: You deserve to feel comfortable AND to go to the things you'd like to go to. It's about figuring out how to make that happen.
never look at the transfer truck. Never look at the obstacle. Only ever look at the gap. This is something you have to learn to do because it's not automatic; but you absolutely have to learn how to do it or you'll die on the road. :D New drivers gravitate towards what they fear. They unconsciously start to steer towards it. you see them veering into the middle of the road when you're trying to overtake them. Some kind of newbie vertigo. Learning to look at the gap changes that enormously.
You need a proper teacher who teaches you the ways to move your arms to parallel park. They break it down to sections and teach you each section. 3 point turn is another learned thing.
You need lessons. I think I had 10 lessons. I don't mean going out driving with someone in your family. Oh no. A teacher. A good teacher will know the course the examiner will take too, and will take you through that course and teach you that course.
