Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
I was watching an interesting Mel Robbins podcast about motivation but I was hearing a lot about Dopamine. Now I know why I am so anxious for 7 a.m. every morning so I can text people. Apparently, I get a Dopamine hit from it. I text my sister-in-law a lot. She is not super bright and doesn't spell well so in response to my text about my day and asking her about her day, she will respond that she's cleaning, loves me and have a nice day. I know this but I need that Dopamine hit from expressing myself. I also scroll and scroll on my phone on YouTube, looking for something to interest me. I'll put my phone down for less than a minute and go back to scrolling. It is an addiction, according to the doctor who was on the podcast. I never finished watching the podcast. I needed information on motivation. I have found over my lifetime that I get energy from people. I could never work from home.

My brother and I visited our Aunt today. I hadn't been able to get there for a few weeks. She looked horrible. She could barely eat the food I brought her. She mumbled on and on. We couldn't understand much of what she was saying. She kept asking for help. I told her that I couldn't help her and she said that I could mentally and at one point, I think she called me stupid. She is...

I heard scrolling hits the same parts of the brain that impact gambling addicts and social media is designed to be addictive.....
Even Mel Robbins and her talks or podcasts is set up to create feel good feelings in the listener, that hit of dopamine so you feel you HAVE TO listen again.
Doom scrolling is when we are addicted to scrolling and scrolling on the phone. I catch myself doing the same in the afternoon when I sit down to rest.
I suspect this app is not really set up to provide that hit of dopamine and so it isn't as popular as say Reddit or TikTok.
Do a google search and read up on Intermittent Reinforcement and find an article that talks about how the victim of Intermittent Reinforcement is looking for that hit of dopamine in the brain and the research of Pavlov and his dogs long ago.
I am not trying to listen to something and joined Serius XM to listen instead of doom scroll.
