Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
I've never been lucky in love. In 1995, I ended a relationship of almost 3 years. I was 36. I did everything in my power to find love again. I ended up in a short term relationship in 1998 with a friend of my brother's who I was always attracted to. He love bombed me and introduced me to his sons. Long story short, he was a drug addict and I ended up taking care of his sons for 5 weeks after I broke up with him. That was the closest I came to being a Mom. At some point, after 2006, I started to become involved with one of my best friend's husband's friends. We had nothing in common. I've had a few guys interested in me since, but I am said to be too picky. In May, I joined a dating website and had 2 dates. Going through a dry spell but texted with a guy who lives close to me today and right away he wants to know when I last dated. I need someone super understanding. How do I say that I haven't had a boyfriend since 1998? I've been a work in progress for years, dealing with a messy house, being overweight, tired all the time, OCD, anxiety and depression. I finally started really working on myself 2 years ago. I am doing better with my OCD and am no longer overweight. I have taken other steps to get healthy. I am sleeping better, eating better, taking my meds and supplements better, working out at a gym. I know I just have to be confident. The right guy will come along. I guess I just needed to vent.

I haven't written in my diary on my computer since May because I thought that my computer was dying. I got away from writing but my computer is hanging in there. I think that I will start writing in it again. It's so therapeutic.

Years ago, I won a mirrored armoire from my job. It's in my bedroom but I rarely stand in front of it. Yesterday, I had to have a dexascan done so I had to change into a gown. There was a full length mirror in the changing room. I'm aware that I gained 5 to 7 pounds over the last year from cheating on Keto but I didn't know what it looked like. It was a reality check.
If you decide you want to regularly date and want a man, then you do what people in business and other circumstances do, try to realistically evaluate your situation and perhaps change some things. If you went on a date, ask someone for some honest feedback. Perhaps expand your group. Get a personal shopper and maybe change outfits. Do what's within your control, some things may be just luck and meeting the right person, so you want to expand your contacts.
I think the things that make popularity have been discussed, nice smile, positive thinking and feedback, a good listener, nice appearance.
It only takes one.
Sounds like this current guy isn't quite what you want, so time to move on to the next! You don't have to settle!
Good job working on yourself! Keep that up!
One idea is to volunteer. That way, you meet all kinds of new people, new friends, and maybe potential dates, without any pressure. You get to know them first, see what they are like in person. And that can turn into a date, only if you want it to.
You will find someone. Again, it only takes one...
Reach out anytime you wish, Gary
