this year's back to school has been a bureaucratic nightmare. here in the 3rd week of the academic year, the missed connections and shifty rules seem to have everybody chasing their tails. the eldest foster child started a new school and the youngest is getting her first taste of school in pre-k. double the bureaucratic fun?
on the business end, the farm restoration is three years behind schedule. contractors are still over-booked and unable to find stable employees while the availability of materials remains unreliable and inflating with each new order. prices are on the rise across the board while patience with the process is diminishing. which process are we working, anyway? there doesn't seem to be any method to the madness.
nobody's talking about ^it^, but this feels covidic recovery to me.
again i leave the mood icon on the rapid cycling median.

I haven't written in my diary on my computer since May because I thought that my computer was dying. I got away from writing but my computer is hanging in there. I think that I will start writing in it again. It's so therapeutic.
your focus in the moment and take it one step at a time.
My personal philosophy is 'life is about taking care of life and keeping it going' - here's to keeping at it.!
Everything feels like post pandemic except I know people who are getting covid around here. Not like the first time but post apocalyptic covid. The surgeon's office who is doing my out patient surgery next week has the dumbest assistant and office staff. I have had to train her how to do her job as far as getting my surgery clearances. They said what day my appointment was on and gave me the wrong day. They said go to the other clinic for labs "anytime" and thank goodness I went early. The office staff had not sent over the orders yet so I had to chase my tail while they electronically sent the orders. Then chase my tail training the assistant to follow up with results and some of my other doctors. I think this is post covid, lack of staff, or they have a really lazy assistant. Everywhere around here the offices and stores are short of help so this is actually normal I guess. Our new normal.
