Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
Hello everyone,
Thank you in advance for reading my post. I am a full-time older student (40's) and solo parent (single mom by choice). Until recently I was able to hold it all together with stress and anxiety. But recently having my 3.5 year old home 24/7 with no relief and no daycare due to COVID. Today 6/1 was the first time in 13 weeks..he has returned to daycare. I also failed (50%) my midterm today. So my anxiety of being a student is through the roof along with him being at a totally new daycare as his closed down permanently due to guidelines (honestly think they wanted a reason to move and close down).
I am rambling as I can't even get my thoughts together this evening. I question my ability to raise my grade and still have time with my son in the evenings. He has been unplugging my desktop or hiding my ipad (e-books). this weekend, I made it about him. Explained that he would be attending a new daycare and make new friends. To give you prospective we live in Alaska and nearest town is 22 miles away. I am living off my savings to attend school and I only have 3 (8 weeks) terms to go plus current term.
Downfall of all this is that 2 of my girl friends moved during COVID, so I have no one here to chat with. We facetime and talk on the phone but it is not the same. Also their kids were my kids' friend.
I am am not usually this out of sort. I am thinking that this is just hitting me hard now as I realize that my life stils feeling like "stay at home" only the kid gets to go make new friends.
I am still not going to church because we have to "reserve" a spot to attend figured this should go to the older crowd who rely on the physical church more than I do. I am happy to watch online.
I did go last week and get a haircut. Other than that it has been routine of basics. I know there are others worse off than me. But I also gave the short story as I get use to telling total strangers my story.

Just wanted to give a thank you to Mid, Arfie, Malibumark, Greeneyes, Mlro, Girlincalif, and Suncloudjd! You all always have such helpful tips and advice, but I always forget to write on my posts when I see you post, lol. I would lose my head if it wasn't attached to my body, lol. Thank you all so much! I'm starting to use my AI app as a sounding board again. I used to use it as that before...

Hey all, i know its been quite awhile since i posted on here. Its been a summer all right. Its been something else........... You know how they say not to open the can of worms? Well a few months ago i decided to find out what my due date would have been for my first baby, the one conceived by r***. My baby would have been due on March 4th of 2006. They would be 20 years old. I was R**** on June...

Falling apart here and now just might be a symptom of awareness. Coronaville has been a long, hard ride for all of us, but those of us who have had to keep young children hidden from the masked enforcers of Coronaville are under extra duress. My 3 young foster charges want their world back even more than they want their mommy and daddy back. I just want a live, full face smile from somebody who isn't holding a selfie-stick. Well. . . As long as I'm wishing, a bit of improperly social distanced, unmasked, hands-on support or at least an open playground would be heavenly. sigh. . .
Prayers in progress for all of us, AK. Maybe we can figure out this masked madness together. Just praying. . .
Welcome aboard.
You've taken the important first step in writing it all out.
You mentioned three things within a single thought, so working out those three topics with your feelings, thoughts, and making a plan that puts your well-being first will give you a way to work through everything to a better balance.
When we 'fail' a test, it's often then that we are the harshest critics of our selves. First, you know now that you need to make time to 'study, review, and refresh'. Refresh means to do something kind for you every single day. Review means to look at your daily list and see what you accomplished, and study means to take the time to consider how you're doing it all.
The change in child care, the change in friends location, the change in your child's behavior - what about you? In order to do your best, you have to take care of you first!
That is a goal that you can see the purpose of-you're attending school. Your child is wanting you to do active things with them.
Best wishes as you find your better balance! You can do this!
Mid~ yeah failing 50% on that midterm really has me off my game. First time in a a long time I have failed. I am pretty good about studying. But today I had a panic attack writing my professor. Me~ I tell myself that school is what I need to get out of this situation. I am changing jobs after graduation, to my dream job.
thank you
