Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...

Does anyone else struggle with thoughts like "right now I should be doing this, or I should be doing that?"
It's constant at the moment, like if I go for a long walk one day, but just a mediocre one the next day, my mind says "you should be doing more." Or, "you should be trying harder to help your mental health."
For instance if I'm reading a book, my mind will say "you could be going for a walk right now, or you should be cleaning." Etc.
The only time I don't guilt trip myself is when I'm working, but even then I think about whether I'm doing 'enough.'
I only have enough work to fill up my mornings at the moment, and my afternoons are just a battle between my restless brain and anxious body.
If I do something new once my mind says "you should be doing this now." I constantly question whether I'm doing enough to help myself, and struggle to concentrate for any longer than five minutes in any leisure related activity I do.
Any tips for dealing with this? Thank you.

I haven't written in my diary on my computer since May because I thought that my computer was dying. I got away from writing but my computer is hanging in there. I think that I will start writing in it again. It's so therapeutic.

Years ago, I won a mirrored armoire from my job. It's in my bedroom but I rarely stand in front of it. Yesterday, I had to have a dexascan done so I had to change into a gown. There was a full length mirror in the changing room. I'm aware that I gained 5 to 7 pounds over the last year from cheating on Keto but I didn't know what it looked like. It was a reality check.
I use positive affirmations to remind myself I am and always have been doing the best I can with what's available. Nudging myself into taking more pleasure in leisure activities is an important positive affirmation, with a mental raspberry to the inner critics who keep lacing in the doubts. Been a time or three I've needed to imagine the inner critics playing in all the spittle I raspberried at them. Lighten up, boneheads! ! !
I distract the "thinking" with "doing" even if it's just something simple.
Best wishes!
