Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...

Hi! My brother is sleeping over tonight and he got up to his old room and found me in one of my “anxiety meltdowns”.
I have been feeling a lot of anxiety lately because I feel like my mom is fed up of me. Like she can’t take it anymore and everything I say annoys her.
To be fair I have to say I may be the luckiest sick person ever in the care receiving department. My mom devoted her self to me since my first diagnoses, my dad is loving and sweet and has payed for everything and my brother has gone above and beyond. He is the biggest little brother in the planet.
But lately, although my mom hasn’t stopped helping me, I feel like a burden, like she is tired of being with me, I sometimes get to feel like she resents me for taking her life away amd that brakes my heart.
Has anyone gone through something similar? How do you handle it?

I haven't written in my diary on my computer since May because I thought that my computer was dying. I got away from writing but my computer is hanging in there. I think that I will start writing in it again. It's so therapeutic.

First, I hope everyone is doing well, and continuing to fight that good fight! Keep up the great work on yourselves; I'm rooting for all of you!So, I started doing therapy at the beginning of the year, when I was in my most depressed state, but with my therapist, I made big changes and steps in the right direction. But, over a month ago, she couldn't take my insurance anymore, and I had to stop...
I also feel like a burden sometimes and I feel so sorry for my parents that I have this bad anxiety and that i cant do everything they want me to do.
I talked to my mom about it and she said that i am not a burden at all.
You could tell your parents how you feel. it is better than saying nothing because your parents will not know how you really feel about yourself if you don't tel them. if they don't know it they can't help you with it right?
Can I have a sense of self without being cast as a Toxic/Narcissistic Mother? Can I nurture personal growth without withdrawing or diminishing the love and support I feel for my adult children?
So far as I can tell, there is no cultural precedent for it. Creative collaboration needed.
When I lived on my own I used to get along with her great and everyone around us would “joke” that it was because we only saw each other for a few ours on the weekend...
Well, now we are here and I’d love to not have this anxiety on top of all the pain and discomfort of all the other illnesses...
Is anyone watching This Is Us? We always had that sort of Mom/Daughter relationship. A lor of love but a lot of judgment too....
Oh well, hope today is better!!
I’m sorry you have a sick kid (no matter how grownup, he/she still your kid haha) I’m sure you give yourself to your child but you are not sick and you have every right to have a sense of worth beyond motherhood and to grow as a person everyday. Being a happy and fulfilled caregiver (although hard) I think is the healthiest way of being and if someone regards you as narcissistic f*them....
people are fast at judging but everyone should rememeber before throwing the first stone that we all live in glass houses...
Be yourself, do your thing and thank you for being a caregiver, thank you from your child and every child!! Hugs and encouragement to you!!!
Creative collaboration still needed. Are stereotypes creative?
Thank you for the generic encouragement, but you didn't get a single fact of my life straight. Of the currently available stereotypes, Toxic/Narcissistic Mother is still the more accurate by my own assessment. TV Mom never was part of my broken birthright. Pretending it was is downright delusional and full of more holes than the most gifted of script writers can fill.
But. . . This thread is not about me or my middle aged *kids."
Continued support while your relationship with the unique woman you call, "Mom" continues to evolve as both of you age.
