Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
I've been struggling a lot lately. My heart palpitations in the middle of the night continue to prevent me from getting much sleep. I'm able to fall asleep just fine, but as soon as I wake up to change positions, the anxiety immediately pounces on me. I try breathing techniques and listening to calming videos, but no success. My body feels physically tired, but my heart/brain refuse to allow me to go into deep sleep.
I take my medicine in the mornings, which helps a little bit after I finish breakfast. However, the constant anxiety continues to crush me. My wife has been a great support, but I feel I always tell her the same thing over and over again about my anxiety. I sometimes fear she will get sick of me, despite her strong support. My parents are also great supports, but I feel bad for being a burden (that's how I feel, at least). My next therapy appointment is in 3 weeks. I worry about my job, and whether a career path change needs to be made. I do enjoy my job, but I constantly worry about it, which is not helping my anxiety.
My daughter and wife are my two motivations to keep moving forward. I'm worried I'll someday drop dead of a heart attack or stroke from all of this anxiety. I want to see my daughter grow up and reach all of the fun milestones (graduate high school and college, get married, her having kids so my wife and I can spoil them, buying her first house, etc.). I just wish I could be happier. I feel I've tried everything (that I know of), but can't catch a break. I feel so defeated.

I haven't written in my diary on my computer since May because I thought that my computer was dying. I got away from writing but my computer is hanging in there. I think that I will start writing in it again. It's so therapeutic.

First, I hope everyone is doing well, and continuing to fight that good fight! Keep up the great work on yourselves; I'm rooting for all of you!So, I started doing therapy at the beginning of the year, when I was in my most depressed state, but with my therapist, I made big changes and steps in the right direction. But, over a month ago, she couldn't take my insurance anymore, and I had to stop...
Is it psychotic of me to actually enjoy my insomnia bouts these days? Now that it doesn't happen very often, I find that I miss all those extra hours of quiet, uninterrupted alone time.
