Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
I take a area wide transportation bus for about 15 years. There are different drivers. One has been working there as long as I have been riding. She was always upbeat and friendly. Now the last four rides, she says she just wishes she had a day off. I didn't think that much about it. It is a hard job. They have long hours, lots of rules. Yesterday she says did you ever here the country song "It ain't Easy" I said I heard something similar. Then she says we don't have it easy and some people are born with a silver spoon. At first I wasn't sure were she was coming from. She wasn't friendly and she didn't talk anymore. Now I realize she was making assumptions about me and she was really trying to put me down, because she was unhappy with her lot and taking it out on me. When she said some people have it easy, I said I don't think anybody has it easy. And then she said some people are born with a silver spoon in their mouth. I want to co-exist with her and haven't done anything to her. I live on a dead end and usually let them leave me off at end of block, because it hard in and out on my block. She doesn't like me now. Anyone have any suggestions on how to handle her without being angry or defensive. I would appreciate any feedback.

I haven't written in my diary on my computer since May because I thought that my computer was dying. I got away from writing but my computer is hanging in there. I think that I will start writing in it again. It's so therapeutic.

Years ago, I won a mirrored armoire from my job. It's in my bedroom but I rarely stand in front of it. Yesterday, I had to have a dexascan done so I had to change into a gown. There was a full length mirror in the changing room. I'm aware that I gained 5 to 7 pounds over the last year from cheating on Keto but I didn't know what it looked like. It was a reality check.
Also, I just want to congratulate you for staying in the same job profession for 15 consecutive years. That's wonderful to know. Keeping a steady job during such a hard time for many is a reward in itself.
The only thing I can say is to keep doing what you're doing for yourself, it's worked for as long as you've been there. Have a nice rest of your day!
when i encounter someone acting like you describe this driver, i try to handle them with gentle care such i might wish for on one of my own bad days. hope your day gets better, friend. stay brave.
When someone is making statements of 'silver spoon' and time off, it's often due to their particular work environment of work schedules.
Hang in there and keep calm and clear head so you can do the travel to and from work with peace.
Aim for compassion and empathy for this woman. She is likely experiencing holiday distress or depression or any number of things.
If we can find compassion and empathy, then we might ask "what's going on in your life that has you so down?"
We do not have to argue the rightness or wrongness or political junk but we can ask a simple question.
Another thing I sometimes say is, "Oh I am sorry to hear your distress. Want to talk about it?"
It is reaching into yourself to reach her humanness and core.
I appreciate them. Yes I am sure she is going. through a lot.
