Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
Today has been a weird day. My anxiety level has been up and down all day... I got up feeling okay, then I thought I was feeling anxious, but I think I was probably misinterpreting signals from my body. Anyway, thinking I was anxious got me feeling kind of anxious. I was able to sit with that and work, and the distraction of work made the feelings go away. Then I was getting ready to start my IOP program and the anxiety started going back up. I took some propranolol, which I haven't taken in a long time and tried to relax my neck and shoulders which have been killing me and that's kind of a trigger. The anxiety would go away for a while and then it would come back... I didn't eat lunch because I wasn't really hungry, but I did eat a protein bar later in the afternoon. Now I'm hungry, but I'm worried I won't be able to eat and I'm feeling sort of anxious about that and... blah!!!!!
I'm going to try and go for a short run to see if that helps get some endorphins going and settles my mind... follow that up with some deep breathing and trying to relax. It's probably just been what "normal" people would consider a weird kind of day and leave it at that. But I've been just all over the place with this.

Hello- I am new to the group
-
Jay's podcasts are really good. I watch them on YouTube for free. Today, I watched his video about motivation. In fact, I've been watching a few videos on this subject. Jay gave us an assignment to complete the following sentence: I am stuck because? I don't describe myself as stuck, but to finish the sentence, I would say that I am stuck because I am tired. When I have energy, I do...
And yeah, I take a couple of things for my anxiety... have for ages now, but I think what I had been doing wasn't enough to keep up with the crazy of the world, so I'm having to up my game to get back on top of this anxiety and start making some good headway in getting a better handle on how to manage it going forward.
My own anxiety rapid cycles on vicious circles, also. Mind fuckus maximus, even when I am able to stay on top of it and hold an even keel throughout the day. I can think of a kajillion places I'd rather be putting that energy, but life is as life is. Not as I would have it. For sure, managing my anxiety doesn't waste as much energy as fighting it and wishing the Cosmos would get with **my** program.
Hurrah for you!
And Mid, yeah... I've lately been learning the sometimes subtle distinctions between distracting and stuffing, and when to use distraction to throw a stick in the spokes of my mind when it decides to spin on unhelpful thinking.
Yo. . . Cosmos. . . Can you send me a cure for saltwater allergy? Just hoping. . .
I study allot on those subtle diffs between distracting and stuffing (evasion?), too. I tend to stay busy enough to make the diffs important. Workaholic league.
