Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
I was chatting with a friend this morning about baking. I used to bake a lot of cookies at Christmas. I gave cookie trays away as presents. I loved every minute of it. About 7 years ago, my niece and her friend came here to bake. I had taught my niece how to bake and how to make icing. They had a ball. After that, something changed in my niece. She never came back and I stopped baking. Flashback two years ago, I did bake from scratch once. I made a Jewish Apple Cake. It totally flopped. I think I put too much apple in it. I tried to salvage it by cutting it up but no one touched it at the Christmas Eve party. I have baked frozen pies but they don't count. My friend really got me to think about baking again. I could really love making some Toll House cookies and Russian Teacakes. But who would eat them? See, it would probably be a big waste. Bummer? Do you bake? What are your specialties?

I did the dumbest thing today. I charged my earbuds, unplugged the block and put the block in my little bag instead of the earbuds. I wasn't happy about that when I got to the gym. What a dummy!

Ever since I stopped doing therapy because of insurance, I've been feeling that old tense and irritable sense of anxiety and stress. I hate that. I was making so many strides and changes during therapy, my therapist would acknowledge all of my progress and accomplishments, and I miss that reassurance. Today I thought about it, and I made those changes! She would always tell me that I chose to...
I used to bake all the time, too. We don't eat so much sugar and flour any longer. My kids and I all had allergies and I was able to create my own recipes without wheat flour or eggs or milk and low sugar but tasty. My husband is a carb-aholic and will eat and eat. He is much too overweight and now a diabetic. So that ruins any baking I do to watch him overeat like he does on anything sweet and a carb. But my nice neighbor and her nephew bring us cookies they bake at the holidays. I don't eat them but I thank them and never tell them, and of course, husband does eat them (I can't eat wheat or eggs or dairy).
these days i can't give away fresh baked goods. taste buds rebel at the lack of processing and the school officials don't trust unpackaged goods.
i keep hoping for the art of baking to grow old enough to be new.
